Inventory Manager

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement inventory management strategies and best practices in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
• Coordinate and oversee the procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contracting.
• Collaborate with various departments to forecast future inventory needs and ensure timely availability of materials.
• Monitor and control inventory costs by implementing efficient inventory control systems.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective material sourcing.
• Establish and maintain an accurate inventory tracking system, including regular physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and cycle counting procedures.
• Supervise a team of inventory control personnel, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
• Prepare regular inventory reports, including stock levels, consumption trends, and forecasting, for management review.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies or issues in an efficient and timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all inventory management activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
• Proven work experience in inventory management, preferably within the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control processes, best practices, and software systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to inventory management in the mining industry.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Working knowledge of SAGE Evolution
