The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil surveying, be proficient with modern surveying equipment, and demonstrate excellent planning, communication, and management skills.\nKey Responsibilities:\nA. Planning & Preparation\nPlan daily activities in advance to ensure smooth execution.\n\nEnsure all required materials are available before work begins.\n\nMonitor progress against set targets and report any deviations.\n\nIdentify and expose all existing services before starting work each day.\n\nB. Labour Management\nProvide team leaders and operators with all necessary information before work begins.\n\nMaintain team discipline and ensure effective communication.\n\nTrain students and tachymeters as needed.\n\nFoster open communication between all levels of the project team.\n\nC. Equipment & Plant Management\nEnsure surveying instruments and tools are kept safe, accurate, and well-maintained.\n\nRegularly check and report on the condition of instruments.\n\nEnsure correct usage of equipment and report any malfunctions or downtime.\n\nProperly store and maintain survey equipment.\n\nD. Surveying Duties\nVerify benchmarks, survey beacons, and connection points for accuracy.\n\nReport any discrepancies from the plan or existing site data.\n\nCheck levels from the previous day before continuing work.\n\nEnsure teams have proper line and level to start work efficiently.\n\nIdentify and report any service clashes (e.g., pipes, utilities).\n\nMonitor and verify levels and alignment during pipe laying.\n\nRecover survey materials (e.g., droppers and pegs) after work completion.\n\nE. Cost Management\nMeasure daily work progress and complete survey and costing sheets.\n\nCorrectly allocate cost codes for fuel and labor expenses.\n\nF. Contractual & Compliance Management\nSet out work accurately according to drawings, specifications, and company standards.\n\nUse the latest plan register updates for accuracy.\n\nConduct and record as-built surveys and ground level surveys.\n\nReport any discrepancies in site levels or conditions.\n\nUphold quality and safety standards throughout all surveying work.\n\nMaintain proper communication with engineers and site management.\n\nG. Public & Client Relations\nMaintain professional relationships with engineers, clients, and stakeholders.\n\nBe mindful of public access and contract-specific requirements.\n\nReport potential site access or safety issues to the Site Agent.\n\nH.
