The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing cost control processes across multiple projects while leading and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors. This is a pivotal position reporting directly to the Contracts Director and offers the opportunity to influence project profitability at a strategic level.\nResponsibilities\nPre-Contract Duties:\nReview and analyse contract documentation and tender information.\n\nPopulate Contract BOQ into CCS and manage subcontract package repricing and negotiations.\n\nFinalise P&G savings in collaboration with the Project Manager and Contracts Director.\n\nIdentify and act on urgent appointments and early purchasing needs.\n\nOversee the subcontract appointment process, ensuring complete and compliant documentation.\n\nProject Cost Control:\nManage a team of Quantity Surveyors at varying levels of experience.\n\nOversee and approve monthly claims, including measurement confirmations and valuation sign-offs.\n\nConduct regular site visits to monitor progress and verify BOQ alignment.\n\nIdentify, price, and submit variations and additional work.\n\nSupport the preparation of EOT claims and remeasurement processes.\n\nManage timelines from claim to payment, including subcontractor payments and contra charges.\n\nMonitor procurement efficiency, wastage control, and enforce cost-saving measures.\n\nFinalise accounts in collaboration with the Contracts Director and Senior PM.\n\nPrepare and lead monthly cost reporting, clearly explaining variances.\n\n Requirements\nAcademic:\nNational Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.\n\nExperience:\n6-8 years in Quantity Surveying, with at least 2-3 years in a senior QS role.\n\nTechnical Skills:\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CCS, and Buildsmart.\n\nDeep understanding of building trades and construction methods.\n\nSolid knowledge of construction materials, lead times, quantities, and application.\n\nAbility to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, including bending schedules.\n\nStrong leadership, delegation, and team management capabilities.\n\nExcellent communication and organisational skills.\n\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality output.\n\n Benefits \nContact Hire Resolve for your next career-changing move.\nOur client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.\nApply for this role today on LinkedIn, or contact Sonique Beetge at \nYou can also visit the Hire Resolve website: hireresolve.us or email us your CV: \n We will contact you telephonically in 3 days should you be suitable for this vacancy.
