The ideal candidate brings solid U.S. tax knowledge, thrives in a remote team environment, and understands the critical importance of confidentiality in a tax practice.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nPrepare individual tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules)\nPrepare business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065)\nPrepare nonprofit tax returns (Form 990 series)\nReview financial statements and supporting documentation\nPerform data entry and reconciliation of financial information\nIdentify missing information and communicate requirements to supervisors\nEnsure compliance with U.S. federal and state tax regulations, including California\nWork within tax software platforms (Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake, UltraTax, or similar)\nMaintain organized digital workpapers and documentation\nMeet deadlines during peak tax season and throughout the year\nRequirements\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\n2+ years of experience in accounting or tax preparation (U.S. tax experience strongly preferred)\nFamiliarity with U.S. tax forms and concepts: 1040, 1120, 1065, 990\nExperience with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)\nStrong Excel skills\nEnglish proficiency, written and verbal\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nPrior experience working with U.S.-based CPA firms or clients\nKnowledge of California state tax requirements\nHands-on experience with Lacerte, UltraTax, or equivalent tax software\nCPA track, Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, or equivalent certification (completed or in progress)\nBenefits\nHireframe provides nearshore and offshore staffing solutions, operating as a remote-first organization with team members located in the United States, Mexico, and the Philippines.
