The company provides precision engineering and contract manufacturing solutions to customers across Asia, Europe, and North America.\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced and technically competent Senior Engineer to lead complex mechanical and electromechanical equipment assembly, integration, troubleshooting, testing, and new product introduction (NPI) activities.\nThe successful candidate will ensure equipment is assembled, tested, and qualified according to engineering drawings, customer specifications, quality requirements, and committed delivery schedules.\nThis position requires strong technical problem-solving capabilities, independent decision-making, leadership, and effective communication with internal stakeholders and international customers.\nKey Responsibilities\nEquipment Assembly & System Integration\n Lead and provide technical support for precision mechanical and electromechanical equipment assembly. \nInterpret engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, assembly specifications, and work instructions.\nOversee equipment alignment, calibration, functional testing, and system integration.\nIdentify and resolve assembly-related technical issues, including mechanical interference, tolerance stack-up, alignment, and functional failures.\nEnsure equipment meets customer specifications before final inspection and shipment.\nEngineering & Technical Problem-Solving\nIndependently investigate manufacturing and assembly issues.\nConduct root cause analysis using 5 Why, 8D, CAPA, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.\nDevelop engineering solutions, assembly fixtures, tooling, and process improvements.\nCoordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.\nDrive corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurring defects and rework.\nNew Product Introduction (NPI) & Product Transfer\nLead engineering preparation and execution for new product introduction and equipment transfer projects.\nReview technical documentation, BOMs, drawings, tooling requirements, and assembly processes.\nConduct manufacturing readiness assessments and identify technical risks before production.\nCoordinate prototype builds, first article qualification, and production ramp-up.\nSupport engineering change implementation (ECN/ECO) and manufacturing process validation.\nCustomer & Cross-Functional Communication\nAct as the technical contact for customers on assembly, engineering, quality, and equipment performance issues.\nParticipate in customer technical discussions, meetings, factory visits, and engineering reviews.\nPrepare technical reports, investigation findings, and corrective action proposals.\nCommunicate technical issues clearly and professionally to customers and senior management.\nCoordinate engineering activities across Production, Quality, Procurement, Project Management, and other internal departments.\nProduction Support & Continuous Improvement\nSupport assembly scheduling, manpower planning, technical resource allocation, and production readiness.\nIdentify opportunities to improve assembly efficiency, product quality, and productivity.\nDevelop and maintain standardized assembly procedures, work instructions, and inspection requirements.\nProvide technical guidance and training to junior engineers, supervisors, and technicians.\nDrive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nJob Requirements\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.\nMinimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in equipment manufacturing, mechanical assembly, system integration, NPI, or related fields.\nExperience in semiconductor equipment, automation machinery, precision engineering, or capital equipment manufacturingis highly preferred.\n\nProven experience handling complex technical issues independently.\nExperience in customer technical support, engineering coordination, or project leadership is advantageous.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical assembly, precision alignment, engineering drawings, and GD&T.\nExperience in functional testing, equipment validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.\nFamiliarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.\nKnowledge of BOM management, engineering changes, manufacturing processes, and technical documentation.\nExperience with pneumatic, electrical, motion control, or automation systems is an advantage.\nFamiliarity with ERP systems is advantageous.\nCandidates currently based in Johor or willing to work in Ulu Tiram are preferred.\nLocation: Ulu Tiram, Johor\nSalary Range: Open for
