If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, lead with a balance of empathy and deep technical expertise, and want to make a real impact in the legal industry, this is the perfect opportunity for you.\nResponsibilities\nTeam Leadership & People Management\nLead, mentor, and develop multiple technical teams consisting of team leads and individual contributors.\nOwn hiring, performance management, career development, and retention for your direct reports.\nBuild strong working relationships with Product, Design, CX, and other cross functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery.\nDrive and enable the team to reach outcomes.\nDelivery & Execution\nDrive the delivery of roadmap features end-to-end: from planning and grooming through release, in a fast-moving environment.\nOwn release planning and coordinate efficient, repeatable deployment cycles.\nPartner with Product Management to refine requirements, scope work, and provide accurate effort estimates.\nIdentify and remove blockers; escalate risks early and with context.\nHands-On Technical Contribution\nActively contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design - this is a hands-on role with a meaningful IC component (~20-30% of your time).\nLead the team’s work on document processing and automation features central to the platform.\nDrive the practical integration of AI/LLM capabilities into the product, working alongside engineers who are actively building these features today.\nChampion engineering best practices: clean architecture, DDD, VSA, code quality, automated testing, and documentation.\nCloud & Infrastructure\nLead and actively contribute to the ongoing migration from AWS to Azure, making this a strategic priority for your team.\nEnsure adherence to cloud-native architecture best practices and Azure platform standards.\nPartner with the CISO organization to uphold data security standards across all platform and application development.\nTechnical Standards & Governanc e\nAdhere to and evolve software development best practices, coding standards, and SDLC governance.\nOwn and improve KPIs related to engineering quality, release frequency, and team confidence.\nManage third-party vendor and tooling relationships as needed alongside the broader engineering management team.\nRequired Skills & Experience\nTechnical\nStrong, demonstrable hands-on experience with C# and .NET (Framework 4.7.2 and/or .NET 10) in a production SaaS environment.\nSolid SQL Server expertise: schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.\nExperience with event-driven architectures; Kafka experience is a strong asset.\nHands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (or a comparable cloud platform with a clear path to Azure proficiency); experience with AWS-Azure migrations is a significant plus.\nStrong understanding of RESTful API design, integration patterns, and service-oriented or microservices architecture.\nPractical experience working with or integrating LLMs or AI/ML capabilities into a commercial product.\nExperience with document processing or document automation systems is an asset.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and DevOps practices.\nExperience with git and branching strategies for team collaboration.\nUse of Azure DevOps is a plus.\nLeadership & Management\n5+ years of direct people management experience leading software engineering teams, including at least some experience managing leads.\n7+ years total experience in technology roles, with a track record of delivering complex SaaS products.\nProven experience managing both onshore and offshore engineering resources across time zones.\nDemonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with people management and strategic thinking.\nExceptional written and verbal communication;
