Software Engineer III - Android

Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer III (Android), you will serve as a technical anchor within our mobile engineering team in Mumbai, driving the development of high-performance, scalable applications that serve millions of users. You will work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to translate complex business requirements into seamless mobile experiences.

Your day-to-day involves architecting robust features, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring our codebase remains at the cutting edge of Android technology.

By maintaining high standards of code quality and system performance, you will directly influence our product's reliability and user retention, playing a pivotal role in our companys growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architect and implement complex mobile features using Kotlin and the Android SDK to ensure a smooth and responsive user experience.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that align with our long-term product roadmap.

- Optimize application performance and memory management by leveraging advanced multithreading techniques and Android Framework internals.

- Conduct rigorous code reviews and establish best practices for mobile app architecture to maintain a clean, testable, and scalable codebase.

- Integrate complex RESTful APIs to ensure seamless data synchronization between the mobile client and backend services.

- Drive the adoption of automated mobile testing frameworks to reduce regression cycles and improve overall release stability.

- Mentor team members on advanced Android development patterns and provide technical guidance on complex problem-solving tasks.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated mastery in building production-grade Android applications using Kotlin and Java, with a deep understanding of the Android SDK and Framework.

- Proven ability to design scalable mobile app architecture that supports modularity and long-term maintainability.

- Strong command over Data Structures and Algorithms to optimize application performance and resource utilization.

- Expertise in utilizing Android Studio and Git for efficient development workflows and version control within a collaborative team environment.

- Proficient in implementing multithreading and background processing to ensure fluid UI performance.

- Experience with Android NDK for performance-critical tasks and low-level system integration.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead technical discussions.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment in Mumbai, demonstrating high adaptability to changing project priorities.

- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field, backed by 5-8 years of hands-on experience in the mobile domain.
