The team works across the entire global portfolio of Hiscox ranging from small personal lines policies through to large catastrophe reinsurance deals.\nThe role:\nWorking for the Group CUO and reporting to the Group Underwriting Performance Lead, this role will support core underwriting reporting as well as own delivery of strategic projects as needed. The aim is to deliver the right visibility to the Group CUO to enable focused conversations on key areas. Ultimately driving constant course correction. The role has a significant business partnering aspect with a need to truly understand what is driving the business result.\nReasons to work in the team:\nWork across the entire Hiscox portfolio, gaining insight into the broader group\nVisibility with Group Exec and engagement with senior stakeholders\nFast-paced environment with plenty of opportunities to work on topics critical to Hiscox’s strategy\nDevelop strategic skillset, balancing short- and long-term delivery\nScope to pursue projects in which candidate has strong interest\nDriven and motivated team, supported by strong mentorship culture\nCore skillset\nInsurance knowledge, preferably in at least two or more markets that Hiscox operates in\nAbility to build networks with stakeholders at all levels, including business unit CUOs, that allows constructive challenge and engagement on technical topics\nAbility to own a piece of analysis from detailed modelling through to key “so-what” for the business\nStrong understanding of an insurance P&L\nCalm and effective under pressure\nHighly organised, able to coordinate multiple tasks and activities across teams\nCurious about the business and able to ask the right questions\nDetail-orientated, able to go deep into an area\nStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint\nWorking knowledge of Power BI or Tableau (advantageous)\nClear and concise communicator\nFive or more years of experience (as a guide only)\nPotential backgrounds:\nPricing analyst who wants broader experience, including non-technical aspects of underwriting\nUnderwriter who wants to stretch to strategic and portfolio view\nFinance specialist (may have accounting background) who wants to learn more about underwriting\nBig 4 and/or consulting professional with strong technical insurance background who wants to gain hands-on experience in-house at a leading re/insurer\nAbout Hiscox\nAs an international specialist insurer, we are far removed from the world of mass market insurance products.
