The role supports the Data and Insights Lead by ensuring reporting is accurate, timely and reliable, responding to ad hoc analytical requests and conducting detailed analysis to identify trends and performance drivers. The role combines strong technical reporting capability with curiosity, attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintain and support Claims MI, Power BI dashboards, scorecards and performance reports, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely and consistent. \nProduce regular and ad hoc management information in response to operational and business requirements. \nConduct deep-dive analysis to investigate performance trends, emerging issues, risks and opportunities. \nDevelop and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards to improve usability, efficiency and the quality of insight available to Claims colleagues. \nExtract, manipulate and analyse data from multiple sources, using appropriate tools and analytical techniques. \nInvestigate reporting issues, data discrepancies and data quality concerns, completing validation and reconciliation checks where required. \nSupport root cause analysis by identifying patterns, relationships and performance drivers within Claims data. \nPresent analytical findings clearly and concisely, making complex information accessible to non-technical audiences. \nMaintain reporting documentation, calculations, definitions and data quality controls in line with agreed standards. \nIdentify opportunities to automate manual reporting activity and improve the efficiency and reliability of MI processes. \nSupport the development of new reports, measures and analytical solutions under the guidance of the Data and Insights Lead. \nBuild knowledge of Claims operations, data structures, performance measures and reporting requirements. \nExperience, Knowledge & Technical Skills\nAt least 24 months’ experience in an MI, data, reporting, business intelligence or analytical role would be beneficial. \nStrong Power BI skills, including experience developing, maintaining and improving dashboards and reports. \nExperience working with data from multiple sources to produce accurate reporting and meaningful analysis. \nStrong data analysis and interpretation skills, with the ability to identify trends, anomalies and performance drivers. \nGood understanding of data quality, validation and reconciliation techniques. \nSQL experience, including querying and extracting data, would be advantageous. \nExperience using Databricks or another cloud-based data platform would be advantageous. \nPrevious experience within insurance, particularly Claims or an operational environment, would be beneficial. \nAn understanding of KPI frameworks, operational performance measures or customer outcome measures would be advantageous. \nSkills and Behaviours\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the curiosity to investigate data and understand performance drivers. \nHigh attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality reporting and analysis. \nAble to organise work effectively, manage competing requests and deliver outputs to agreed deadlines. \nClear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences. \nProactive and improvement-focused, with a willingness to challenge existing reporting processes constructively. \nComfortable working independently on defined analytical tasks and collaboratively as part of the wider Claims Operations team. \nKeen to develop technical knowledge and learn new reporting tools, data platforms and analytical techniques. \nPractical, dependable and responsive when supporting regular reporting, ad hoc requests and investigative analysis. \nDiversity & Benefits\nAt Hiscox we care about our people.
