This role focuses on hands-on engineering work while also providing technical guidance to other engineers on the team. The ideal candidate will partner with product owners, tech leaders, and software engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.\nYou will bring strong technical depth, excellent problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset. You are comfortable working in agile environments, mentoring peers, and driving improvements across the platform.\nKey Responsibility Areas\nCloud Infrastructure Management\nDesign, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.\nArchitect cloud solutions for new and existing workloads, making sound technical decisions on services and patterns.\nImplement and manage cloud security measures including network configurations, firewalls, and access control.\nMonitor and analyze cloud system performance, troubleshooting and resolving issues proactively.\nAnalyze cloud usage patterns and recommend optimizations to reduce spending.\nImplement security policies and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.\nCollaboration and Coordination\nWork closely with the Lead Cloud Engineer and cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with business needs.\nCoordinate with other Technology teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud services.\nProvide technical mentorship and guidance to cloud engineers and DevOps engineers on the team.\nCommunicate effectively within and across teams, including with vendors when required.\nContribute to a culture of continuous improvement, helping to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement within cloud infrastructure.\nStay current with cloud technologies and best practices; recommend and lead adoption of improvements.\nParticipate in incident post-mortems, contributing to key learnings and system improvements.\nUse AI-powered coding and engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Claude) to accelerate development workflows, code reviews, and infrastructure-as-code authoring.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a similar role.\nExperience within the Finance / Insurance industry is a plus.\nStrong proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).\nUnderstanding of modern application SDLC best practices.\nStrong understanding of cloud security best practices.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.\nRelevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.\nSelf-motivated learner who proactively seeks out new skills and challenges.\nBelieves in a collaborative, transparent, and trust-based team culture.\nComfortable communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nExperience with agile development methodologies.\nUnderstanding of foundational cloud services (networking, storage, compute, etc.).\nSolid understanding of DevOps automation tools and practices (CI/CD) such as Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, AI-assisted coding tools, or comparable tools.\nHands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Cursor, or similar) to improve productivity and code quality.\nFamiliarity with evaluating and adopting AI-powered engineering tools, including prompt engineering for infrastructure and automation tasks.\nWork with amazing people
