If that sounds good to you, get in touch.\nThe team\nThe Group Internal Audit team provides independent and objective assurance and advice to the Group Audit Committee, and to the Boards of Directors of the companies within the Group, over the processes and systems of control and risk management operating in the Group. IA’s scope covers all aspects of the Group and its activities and liaises closely with other monitoring functions across the Group, including Group Compliance and Group Risk.\nThe Group Audit team is based in London, York, Luxembourg, Lisbon and the US. The team is supplemented with additional co-source when required.\nProfessional standards\nOur work adheres to the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) mandatory guidance including the Definition of Internal Auditing, the Code of Ethics and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (‘the Standards’). We also adhere to guidance issued by the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors in the UK (CIIA): Effective Internal Audit in the Financial Services Sector.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nAs a part of a small but dynamic team, you will support the delivery of internal audits across the Hiscox Group in line with the Audit Plan. These audits will be primarily aligned to Hiscox’s Europe Business Unit, as well as occasionally other Business Units and Group functions. This will be through working with other members of the team, alone on some reviews or with co-source.\nThe role covers all aspects of the successful delivery of audits, including:\nensuring the successful and timely completion of reviews, from initial scoping and planning through to reporting and follow up of actions and recommendations. You may take on the lead role on selected audits, where appropriate, while primarily being responsible for the delivery of delegated audit work and supporting audit leads with the effective delivery of reviews.;\nidentifying issues and contributing topragmatic recommendations to address issues and to add value to the business;\nworking with and supporting other team members;\neffective stakeholder and relationship management at all levels;\ncontributing to Internal Audit’s planning and strategy, and to its continued development. \nhelping to build and maintain Internal Audit’s presence and reputation across the Group.\nOutside the Audit Plan, you may be asked to conduct specific reviews or to take on special projects. You will also be expected to take on additional responsibilities to support the Head of Group Internal Audit and other team members as required.\nSpecification\nPrevious external or internal audit experience, must be gained within insurance (while insurance experience is highly preferential, we will consider exceptional candidates from other financial services backgrounds)\nMust be degree qualified with a professional accountancy, audit or internal audit qualification (or progressing towards completing a qualification) and show sound audit judgment\nFluent in English, whilst French or German would be considered a bonus\nThe ability to plan and deliver assigned audit work with with minimal day to day supervision, managing priorities and adapting the audit approach where required\nA dynamic, assertive and self-confident individual who can deliver without the need for high levels of supervision\nIndependent worker, resilient and self-reliant.
