Sitting within the Underwriting Portfolio Management team, part of Underwriting Performance Analytics, you will turn complex data into clear insights that help our underwriters make better decisions and steer the strategy of our portfolios.\nYou'll work closely with the European Underwriting Management team and our country underwriting teams, delivering analysis that directly supports our underwriting goals. You'll be an active voice in the conversation on how we best deliver those goals across the business.\nThis is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, is curious about insurance and wants to build a career in underwriting analytics. You'll work with moderate oversight, supported by senior members of the team, and will have the space to learn, grow and take on increasing ownership.\nKey Responsibilities\nUnderstand and respond to the portfolio management needs of Hiscox Europe.\nSupport the pricing of large deals and new business opportunities.\nProduce profitability studies.\nAnalyse books of business and recommend optimisation actions.\nDeliver analysis ranging from studies on specific books for the underwriting community to outputs that feed critical processes (such as reserving) and reporting (such as the GUR and Trilogy forums).\nContinuously improve existing dashboards and tools, making sure they stay fit for purpose and evolve with the wider organisation.\nPerson Specification\nDegree in a quantitative field such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience.\nExperience in an analytical or data-focused role.
