And that’s where you come in.\nJob Description:\nThe Accounts Payable Lead reports to the Director of Accounting within Finance.\nThe incumbent is responsible for processing and supervising invoice processing, Payment Run, vendor management, Process Implementation and Improvement for Hitachi Rai Canada Inc\nFixed Term - 12 Month s\nKey Accountabilities:\nProcess third party vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.\nEnsure invoices are supported by approved documentation.\nLiaise with Treasury to correctly process hedged items in order to mitigate exposure to foreign currency movements.\nAssist Treasury with managing payments to meet company cash flow deliverables.\nMaintain optimal aging of Accounts Payable.\nEnsure effective communication with the Buyers and the Quality team to drive timely resolution of invoice processing delays in relation to inventory receipts, PO issues and vendor disputes.\nManage, communicate and resolve all queries in a timely manner.\nParticipate actively in clearing open items, advanced payments GL account, GRIR and other accounts during the month-end process.\nComplete monthly supplier statement reconciliations of specified key suppliers and any others that need to be done.\nPrepare month-end journal entries and ensure completeness of accruals.\nPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations on Accounts Payable related accounts to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity.\nVerify expense reports and make sure that it complies with company Travel Policy\nProcess third party, intercompany, expenses and other payments according to the payments schedule in a timely manner.\nSupport changes to AP or payments process by actively changing daily routines.\nSuggest improvements to AP or payments process regularly.\nImplement changes in procedures and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency within Accounts Payable and payments.\nAssist with implementation of new technologies or process as needed.\nWork in cross-functional implementation teams if requested.\nInput vendor master data to support payments in SAP\nMaintain vendor master data to support payments in SAP including cleansing the data at least annually and amending data when requested to do so. This reduces issues with payment runs.\nRun reports on vendor master data upon request.\nCommunicate with other stakeholders in business regarding process changes so that they understand the impact. Help them make the necessary changes in their daily routines too (where possible).\nBe proactive and accepting of change to the process or in the department.\nFrequently promote the changes as a positive experience to all stakeholders.\nSupport effective cross-training of area specific skills to everyone in P2P.\nGovernance - ensure that all laws, company policies, departmental procedures are adhered to. Comply with financial internal controls.\nDocumentation - Ensure process maps and procedures are up to date and available for all AP and Payment processes.\nEnsure timely resolution of issues.\nParticipate in special projects at the request of management.
