And that’s where you come in.\nJob Description:\nCommercial Contract Manager supporting the business in bids and project contract management for the Signaling and Rail Solutions Line of Business in the Americas region.\nKey Accountabilities\nThe successful candidate will manage and drive the contract and commercial management aspects of all the details below effectively.\nThe candidate will be responsible for:\nEnsure the identification of opportunities to minimize contract risk and plan commercial risk mitigation strategies.\n\nEnsure the provision to BU Regions of the needed information related to the following areas:\nDefinition of Contract Management processes, procedures, guidelines, forms and templates.\n\nProvide commercial assessment of terms and conditions, risks, and assumptions during Bid Phase.\n\nMonitor, support, and report on all customers, JV/Partner, and sub-contractor contract-related commercial impacts\n\nand risks, to or from Hitachi (For example - placing customer on notice for delays/impacts, contract changes/credits,\n\nor defending against assertions/claims.).\n\nDevelop, implement and ensure compliance with appropriate strategic commercial approach, based on contract type\n\n(I.e. FFP, T&M, etc.).\n\nDevelop and implement contract management infrastructure. (I.e. maintenance of contractual records and\n\ndocumentation, contract correspondence, contractual changes, status reports, tools, etc.).\n\nMonitor schedule impacts to baseline schedule, in conjunction with Project Planner.\n\nMonitor project contracts to ensure compliance until completion.\n\nClaims preparation support and disputes handling in accordance with the contract provisions.\n\nSupport Project Manager with proper negotiation and management of variation orders to maximize returns.\n\nProper implementation of contractual aspects related to Key shared accountabilities\n\nSupport BU in Client business conditions monitoring, by recommending adjustments to commercial strategies and targets contract close-out, extension or renewal.\n\nCommercial and contractual management of subcontractors after subcontract award. Serve as the point of contact for subcontractors on contractual matters. Act as contractual “middleman” between company employees and contractors, ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations and claims.\n\nMaintain contractual records and documentation and ensuring procedures are in place for control of all contract correspondence, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all assigned projects. Conduct periodic audits/reviews of same.\n\nDrafting and/or reviewing key project correspondence about commercial content.\n\nDevelop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy. As appropriate, contribute to or influence company policies.\n\nIdentify and manage project commercial and contracting risks and coordinate mitigation measures and contractual insurance requirements.\n\nKey Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in business, law, finance or related field\n\nTertiary qualifications in engineering discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical or Civil; or\n\nTertiary qualification in Construction Management; or\n\nTertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, preferably RICS qualified.\n\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in the railway/infrastructure/construction industry in contract & commercial roles in complex technical or engineering-based organization.\n\nMinimum 5 years' experience of managing medium to large-scale design/build or EPC projects.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nPost graduate qualifications in construction law, dispute resolution or contracts management are highly desirable\n\nBase Salary: $141,974 - $177,468\nThe Company provides an extensive benefits program for all full-time employees working 24 or more hours per week and their eligible dependents, including the following:\nHealth, Dental and Vision plans - 100% of premiums are company-paid\n\nRetirement Savings Plan with a company match\n\nCompany paid holidays - 3 weeks of vacation\n\nCompany provided Life and accident Insurance, LTD\n\nWorklife programs such as Flextime and a variety of Development and Training opportunities\n\nThis posting relates to an existing vacancy.\nOur hiring process uses both human and technology-assisted (AI) tools to support candidate screening and assessment.
