The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks within our Rolling Stock Engineering Department. And that’s where you come in.\nAccountabilities \nAct as the Ecodesign and Chemical Compliance focal point for rolling stock projects, ensuring alignment with internal sustainability requirements and applicable regulations.\nCollect, analyse, and manage environmental and technical data to develop Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) studies in accordance with ISO 14040, ISO 14044, ISO 14025, and ISO 14067.\nSupport the integration of ecodesign principles and sustainability criteria throughout the product development lifecycle.\nCollaborate with Procurement and Engineering teams to support supplier selection and engagement based on sustainability, circular economy, and environmental performance evidence.\nProvide technical support on ecodesign, circularity, material sustainability, and chemical compliance topics to internal stakeholders.\nRepresent the company in European and international working groups focused on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Circular Economy, Ecodesign, and related sustainability initiatives.\nContribute to the development and implementation of sustainability strategies, methodologies, and best practices across the business.\nCompetencies\nCross-functional collaboration\nStakeholder management\nAnalytical thinking\nProblem solving\nData-driven decision making\nCommunication and presentation skills\nInfluencing and networking\nAbility to work in multicultural and international environments\nProactive mindset and continuous improvement orientation\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines\nRequired Skills/ Knowledge\nDegree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.\nKnowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology and environmental sustainability principles.\nKnowledge of ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards.\nExperience (3- 5 years) in collecting, analysing and managing environmental and technical data.\nExperience (3- 5 years) with LCA software tools (preferably SimaPro or equivalent).\nUnderstanding of Ecodesign, Circular Economy and sustainability principles.\nKnowledge of chemical compliance requirements and material-related environmental regulations.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and external stakeholders.\nGood communication skills and ability to work in an international environment.\nDesired Skills/ Knowledge\nExperience (3- 5 years) in developing Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).\nKnowledge of ISO 14025 and ISO 14067 standards.\nExperience (3- 5 years) in the railway, transportation, manufacturing or industrial sector.\nFamiliarity with sustainability regulations and reporting frameworks.\nExperience (3- 5 years) supporting supplier sustainability assessments and sustainable procurement activities.\nKnowledge of Digital Product Passport (DPP), Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and related European sustainability legislation.\nExperience (3- 5 years) participating in international or industry working groups related to LCA, Circular Economy or Ecodesign.\nKnowledge of material circularity assessment methodologies and circular economy indicators.\nKnowledge of Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) methodologies and social sustainability impact assessment across product life cycles.\nProject management and stakeholder engagement experience.\nEducation/Qualifications\nMaster's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.\nProven experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and environmental sustainability within industrial or manufacturing environments.\nLanguages \nFluent English, both written and spoken, with the ability to work in an international environment and represent the company in external working groups and technical forums.\nKnowledge of an additional European language is considered an advantage.\n“Alla posizione si applica il vigente CCNL per l’industria metalmeccanica privata e l’installazione di impianti, con inquadramento nel livello B2, ai sensi della relativa disciplina di classificazione del personale.” Proponiamo una retribuzione annua lorda compresa tra 36.000 € e 46.000 €\nThank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
