And that’s where you come in.\nJob Description:\nCore Tasks / Objective of the position:\nAs a Hardware Component Engineer you are responsible for the component strategy of hardware components for our signalling systems. You will also act as a technical interface to suppliers, product design, obsolescence management and projects.\nDetailed Job Description and Responsibilities:\nAs a Hardware Component Engineer your work builds the basis for successful product development and product maintenance. Together with the stakeholders you specify requirements and select components that are used in the products and solutions and thereby defining the component portfolio.\n Tasks in Detail:\nDevelopment and maintenance of a generic component strategy for hardware components (e.g. resistors, capacitors, monitors, servers)\nComponent engineering services to ensure component standardization, availability and high quality\nComponent selection and qualification according to group-wide standards, parts list checking, technical supplier interface and database management\nCollaborate with product and solution owners to select parts that best meet their requirements and review BOMs\nPre-check of component relevant documentation (e.g. data sheets, conformities) and creation and maintenance of part numbers for the selected components\nDefinition and maintenance of preferred parts lists\nSupport with obsolescence monitoring and obsolescence management, as well as definition and selection of successor solutions\nCreation and management of component specifications\nData maintenance in the product database systems\nDesired Field of Study or Education:\nSuccessfully completed studies, for example with a focus on electrical engineering or industrial engineering\nProfessional Skills:\nExperience in component engineering in one of the following industries: Automotive, aerospace, rail signalling, avionics or high-reliability electronic systems\nVery good technical knowledge of passive COTS components\nExcellent analytical, communication and organizational skills required\nFirst application experience with databases would be desirable\nVery good language skills in English\nWith your entrepreneurial mind-set, you contribute comprehensively to the implementation of the component strategy\nSocial Skills:\nForesighted and self-organized way of working\nTeam player and reliable\nEnjoys working with international, multicultural and interdisciplinary teams\nThank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
