And that’s where you come in.\nJob Description:\nTo assist in the hardware electrical design of new or revised products, equipment, and installations, utilizing processes based on established engineering principles to meet requirements. Involved with designs of moderate to high complexity.\nKey Accountabilities:\nDesign new or revised products, equipment, and installations, utilizing processes based on established engineering principles to meet customer and Railway requirements.\n\nEnsure the quality and integrity of hardware designs and all related documentation.\n\nPrepare specifications for hardware and/or software components or devices.\n\nDevelop appropriate design architecture.\n\nImplement designs using good design practices and applicable standards and guidelines.\n\nReview applicable specifications, standards, and rules, ensuring appropriate actions have been taken.\n\nEnsure both the safety and quality of hardware products while reducing deployment costs. Contribute to heightened reuse of product hardware and improvements in hardware quality.\n\nConduct technical reviews and ensure changes align with objectives.\n\nGenerate accurate, supportable estimates for current departmental technology and provide supportable estimates for new developments.\n\nSupport bids by defining technical solutions and reviewing the materials list.\n\nInterpret, identify, and document requirements to meet customer needs within budget and schedule constraints.\n\nAssume the role of Work Package Manager as required.\n\nContribute to a harmonious team environment while maintaining professionalism.\n\nMentor and assist junior team members as required.\n\nFollow directions and work instructions, exercising good judgment in assigned work.\n\nEffectively present pros and cons for various courses of action.\n\nTrack progress on all assigned tasks, ensuring all work is completed accurately.\n\nKey Requirements:\n6+ years of experience in the industry, including:\nCabling\n\nGrounding techniques\n\nSurge protection\n\nStrong grasp of Electrical Engineering Principles, including:\nPower circuits design\n\nElectronic circuits with microprocessors\n\nTelecommunications circuits\n\nProficiency with engineering tools such as:\nCAD systems (AutoCAD)\n\nMulti-meters\n\nOscilloscopes\n\nProtocol analyzers\n\nWell-developed verbal skills for clear communication without ambiguity.\n\nProven ability to design complex electrical and electronic products.\n\nStrong writing skills to prepare clear and concise documents and work packages.\n\nProficient in skills and up-to-date with technology in the discipline.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of diplomas and work experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n6+ years of experience in the Railway Signaling industry.\n\nExperience with design, installation, and testing of communication-based train control on-board equipment.\n\nExcellent understanding of train interfaces and operations.\n\nFamiliarity with train maintenance, train components, sub-systems, and various train designs from different manufacturers.\n\nDeep understanding of CENELEC and AREMA railway standards regarding on-board equipment.\n\nExperienced in performing train surveys.\n\nCertification: PEO.\n\nEducation: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.\n\nBase Salary : $81,675 - $115,367\nThe Company provides an extensive benefits program for all full-time employees working 24 or more hours per week and their eligible dependents, including the following:\nHealth, Dental and Vision plans - 100% of premiums are company-paid\n\nRetirement Savings Plan with a company match\n\nCompany paid holidays - 3 weeks of vacation\n\nCompany provided Life and accident Insurance,LTD\n\nWorklife programs such as Flextime and a variety of Development and Training opportunities\n\nThis posting relates to an existing vacancy.\nOur hiring process uses both human and technology-assisted (AI) tools to support candidate screening and assessment.
