With operations across the globe and a strong focus on innovation, digital transformation and responsible working, we offer a place where experienced professionals can genuinely make their mark.\nIf you’re an established HSE Advisor who enjoys being visible on site, influencing positive change and partnering with operational teams - this could be your next move. Reporting into the HSE Manager, you’ll be the go-to HSE presence for our Stoke Gifford depot, supporting the effective management and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental standards.\nThis is a hands-on, people-facing role where you’ll have real ownership, credibility on site and the opportunity to shape how HSE is embedded day to day - not just audited from afar.\nSome key responsibilities\nChampioning a proactive, positive HSE culture across the depot\n\nSupporting the development, implementation and maintenance of HSE systems and procedures\n\nLeading on risk assessments, investigations and corrective actions\n\nDelivering HSE training, briefings and toolbox talks\n\nConducting regular site inspections, audits and safety tours\n\nManaging environmental compliance, waste, pollution control and sustainability initiatives\n\nSupporting internal audits and maintaining legal and compliance registers\n\nActing as a trusted advisor to managers, engineers and external stakeholders\n\nDeputising for the HSE Manager when required\n\nAbout you\nYou’re an experienced and confident HSE professional who enjoys being visible, approachable and influential on site.\nYou’ll bring:\nExperience in HSE within an engineering, manufacturing or similar complex environment\n\nNEBOSH Certificate and a relevant Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA)\n\nWorking knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and environmental permitting\n\nExperience as an internal auditor\n\nStrong communication skills and the confidence to engage at all levels\n\nA practical, solution-focused mindset with high personal standards\n\nA collaborative approach and genuine passion for keeping people safe\n\nWhat we offer\nWe value the importance of all of our employees, if you would like to join our fantastic organisation you could be entitled to:\nCompetitive salary\n\nPotential opportunity for annual performance related bonus\n\n25 days holiday\n\nPension scheme with contributions up to 9%\n\nPrivate medical insurance\n\nPersonal Accident insurance\n\nGroup Income protection\n\nGroup Life Insurance\n\nEmployee Assistance Programme\n\nWe also offer additional perks for you to choose from within a flexible plan that will meet your specific needs and lifestyle\nThank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
