In this role, you will help identify, manage, and reduce risk by building systems, practices, and organizational capability that support safe and reliable operations from day one and beyond.\nYou will work closely with project, construction, and site leadership to strengthen risk management, operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. This position includes leading and developing the local HSSE team, supporting contractor and stakeholder alignment, overseeing investigations and audits, implementing ISO management systems, and helping establish the foundations for long-term operational excellence and resilience.\nHow You'll Make an Impact\nLead and develop the HSSE team supporting facility design, construction, commissioning, and the transition to operations.\nEstablish and execute an HSSE strategy focused on risk reduction, learning culture, system design, and the prevention of serious injuries and fatalities.\nPartner with project, construction, and site leadership to proactively identify, assess, and manage risks associated with all phases of the facility startup.\nParticipate in design reviews, hazard assessments, risk management, and constructability evaluations to integrate safety and environmental considerations into project decisions.\nLead incident investigations, audits, inspections, and corrective action processes to drive continuous improvement and organizational learning.\nImplement, and maintain ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.\nMonitor and analyze HSSE performance metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations to site and project leadership.\nFoster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement across employees, contractors, and project partners.\nYour Background\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, or a related field.\nMinimum 8 years of progressive HSSE experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or project-based environments.\nDemonstrated leadership experience, including developing and leading teams.\nExperience supporting large capital projects, facility construction, commissioning, or startup activities.\nStrong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and risk management principles.\nProfessional certifications such as CSP, CRSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent are considered an asset.\nFluency in English is required.
