This role involves proactive quality assurance, defect prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver reliable and compliant products to our customers.\nHow you’ll make an impact\nDevelop, implement, and maintain in-process quality control plans, procedures, and work instructions for the manufacturing of small and medium power transformers.\nConduct regular inspections, tests, and audits at various stages of the production process (e.g., winding, core assembly, tanking, insulation, final assembly) to identify and address non-conformities.\nUtilize various quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa, SPC) for root cause analysis of defects and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.\nCollaborate closely with production, design, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, improve manufacturing processes, and reduce scrap and rework.\nMonitor and analyze quality data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and report on quality performance.\nParticipate in the qualification of new materials, components, and processes, ensuring they meet specified quality requirements.\nProvide training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.\nEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality management system (QMS) requirements (e.g., ISO 9001).\nLead and participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.\nResponsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.\nLiving Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business\nYour background\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.\n3-7 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably within the electrical manufacturing industry, with specific exposure to power transformers or similar heavy electrical equipment.\nStrong understanding of transformer design, manufacturing processes, and testing standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI/IEEE).\nProficiency in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D problem-solving).\nDemonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nStrong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.\nProficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, Minitab).\nCertification in quality (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.\nProficiency in both spoken & written English language is required\nAccessibility and reasonable accommodation\nQualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
