And that’s where you come in.\nJob Description:\nYour new role\nWe are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Newton Aycliffe.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an engineer at the beginning of their career to build their technical expertise within the rail industry. You will support the design, development and validation of electrical systems for railway vehicles, working alongside experienced engineers in a multidisciplinary and international environment.\nWith guidance and support from senior colleagues, you will gain valuable experience across electrical design, systems engineering, testing and technical documentation, while contributing to the development of innovative railway solutions.\nSome key responsibilities\nIn this role, you will support:\nPreparing and updating electrical schematics for railway vehicles and subassemblies\nProducing electrical documentation for manufacturing, including wiring tables, topographic diagrams and harness drawings\nDesigning electrical cabinets, electrical boxes and wiring systems\nSelecting and specifying electrical and electromechanical components\nPreparing engineering reports and maintaining technical documentation\nManaging system and component requirements\nSupporting electrical integration, testing and troubleshooting activities\nParticipating in design reviews with internal teams, suppliers and customers\nEnsuring designs comply with relevant standards, customer requirements and company processes. \nAbout you\nYou may be a recent graduate or have up to three years of experience within electrical engineering, industrial engineering, transportation systems or a related field.\nWe are looking for someone who has:\nA degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline\nA basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and electrical schematics\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nGood organisational skills and attention to detail\nThe ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team\nConfidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint\nGood written and spoken English\nA genuine interest in developing a long-term technical engineering career within the rail industry\nFlexibility to undertake occasional business travel\nExperience with electrical CAD tools such as E3 Zuken, AutoCAD Electrical or similar would be beneficial, as would knowledge of requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS. Academic projects, internships or dissertation work involving electrical systems, wiring, industrial equipment or transportation systems would also be advantageous.\nKnowledge of written and spoken Italian would be welcomed but is not essential.
