And that’s where you come in.\nJob Description:\nYour new role\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Fire Safety Engineer to join our team in London.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to develop specialist experience in fire safety while contributing to technically complex railway projects within a global organisation.\nYou will support the management of fire safety requirements and technical documentation, while working closely with internal and external project teams. The position will give you exposure to different areas of the engineering lifecycle and the opportunity to build your knowledge of railway fire safety standards and requirements.\nThe role offers a varied workload and would suit someone who is self-motivated, analytical and keen to develop a career within a specialist engineering discipline.\nSome key responsibilities\nSupport the management of fire safety requirements using DOORS.\nManage and maintain fire safety documentation.\nWork collaboratively with internal and external sub-project teams to support the development of assigned project activities.\nProvide fire safety input and support across railway engineering projects.\nCoordinate with internal and external resources involved in fire safety design activities.\nHelp ensure that fire safety requirements and project deliverables are managed effectively.\nBuild strong working relationships across engineering and project teams.\nUndertake occasional short domestic and international business trips where required.\nAbout you\nWe are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is keen to build specialist knowledge within fire safety engineering.\nYou will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing different priorities and collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders across a range of technical disciplines.\nYou will ideally bring:\nA degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a technical diploma with a specialism in mechanics.\nAn analytical and methodical approach to technical work.\nStrong collaboration and team-working skills.\nFlexibility and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.\nA results-focused mindset and willingness to take ownership of assigned activities.\nWritten and spoken English \nAvailability for occasional short domestic and overseas travel. \nKnowledge of the EN 45545 railway fire-protection standard and Technical Specifications for Interoperability, commonly referred to as TSIs, would be advantageous.
