And that’s where you come in.\nJob Description:\nWe are currently looking for a Lead Technician to join our Production team at Stoke Gifford Depot, Bristol.\nIn this role, you will take responsibility for the servicing, fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of Hitachi Rail rolling stock, helping to ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, and performing at its best. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineering professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working with advanced rail technology.\nBased at our Stoke Gifford Depot, you will play a key role in supporting operational performance, mentoring colleagues, and driving high standards of safety, quality, and reliability across the fleet.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintenance and Engineering\nMaintain the condition of the work site, materials and equipment\nPrepare for and undertake planned and unplanned maintenance activities\nConfirm that traction and rolling stock assets comply with operational specifications by the use of engineering processes and techniques\nRead and extract information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specifications\nPrepare for and undertake the removal and replacement of traction and rolling stock components\nModify or manufacture traction and rolling stock components by material removal using hand tools\nAssemble traction and rolling stock components using engineering processes and techniques\nInstall new traction and rolling stock components using engineering processes and techniques\nFault-finding and Technical Support\nIdentify, assess and rectify defects and discrepancies on Hitachi rolling stock assets\nIdentify repeat defects on Hitachi rolling stock assets and suggest / carry out repairs\nCreate technical scopes of work for fault rectification by other members of staff\nSupport reliability technicians with regards reliability improvements to rolling stock assets\nAttend and provide technical support with failures in service when on duty\nProvide operational support to users of Hitachi rolling stock assets\nSafety, Quality and Record Keeping\nKeep SAP record system up to date with clear and concise information of work carried out.\nAdhere to health, safety, environmental & quality practices in the workplace\nMaintain high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices\nQualification\nHNC or Served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines/Engineering based NVQ level 3\nAbout you\nPreventative Maintenance and Fault-finding experience\nAC Depot isolation experience\nMoveable plant experience\nDriving Licence\nWorking at Height experience\nManual Handling experience\nPowered plant and tools - air / 110v experience\nCrimping competence & assessment experience\nSound knowledge of, and compliance to, rules and regulation\nWhat We Can Offer\nWe value the importance of all of our employees, if you would like to join our fantastic organisation you could be entitled to:\nCompetitive salary\nPotential opportunity for annual performance related bonus\n25 days holiday\nPension scheme with contributions up to 9%\nPrivate medical insurance\nPersonal Accident insurance\nGroup Income protection\nGroup Life Insurance\nEmployee Assistance Programme\nWe also offer additional perks for you to choose from within a flexible plan that will meet your specific needs and lifestyle.\nThank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
