This role involves documenting and communicating changes or issues, maintaining an organized and safe work environment, and assisting with material preparation and secondary processes. The position requires learning to operate various shop equipment while adhering to ISO and quality standards. Success in this role depends on strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Occasional travel and physical activity are required to support project and operational needs.\nHow You’ll Make an Impact:\nMachine Build Assistant(s) with the assembly of equipment.\nEnsure that changes and problems get documented and communicated.\nCarry out assigned tasks with minimum direct supervision.\nAssist the Machine Builder(s) with the execution of ISOQuality standards.\nCommunicate with the Machine Builder(s) on open issues and progress during the build process.\nAssist the Machine Builder(s) with the successful execution of assigned programs as they relate to cost, quality, timing and customer satisfaction.\nMaintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.\nAssist with preparing material for secondary processes (material finishing, heat treat, and deburring).\nLearn to effectively and safely operate:Mill\nDrill Press\nSanders\nSaws\n\nNote: This list of responsibilities is by no means inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nBasic computer skills.\nBasic proficiency reading part and assembly drawings preferred.\nProven mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.\nProven ability to accept direction and complete tasks as assigned while working as part of a team or individually.\nAbility to maintain a steady pace while bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and climbing onto and beneath machines.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.\nAbility to obtain a Hi-Lo (Forklift), Aerial Platform and Overhead Crane license, along with Lock Out Tag Out training, while employed at JR.\nTravel at least 20% of the time may be required.
