At Hitachi Global Air Power, you will be part of a global network that is shaping the future of industrial power.\nSummary of the position:\nThe Machinist position requires an individual to perform several duties as defined within the Machine Operation family.\nThis position is located at the Hitachi Global Air Power manufacturing plant in Michigan City, Indiana, and reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor.\nDuties and responsibilities:\nSet-up, troubleshooting, and operation of the machine, including tool and work piece adjustments.\nSafe material handling processes, including forklift driving and overhead crane operating.\nExecute daily production, quality, and on time delivery requirements.\nQualifications:\nEducation:\nHigh School Education or equivalent.\nBasic reading and strong math skills required to perform the functions of the job.\n1-3 years machining experience preferred and/or machine trades schooling.\nProfessional experience:\nStrong mathematical skills.\nUnderstand technical blueprints.\nComputer skills required (i.e., spreadsheets, data entry, email)\nAbility to use precision measurement device.\nWork within .0005 tolerances.\nWorking knowledge of machine shop equipment including but not limited to: CNC Grinders, Lathes and Mills.\nSuccessfully complete training and receive a Forklift Operator’s License.\nKey behaviors:\nLifting to 35 lbs.
