At Hitachi Global Air Power, you’ll be part of a global network that’s shaping the future of industrial power.\nSummary of the position:\nThe Manager of Supply Chain Management leads a team responsible for the sourcing and delivery of all the materials and services necessary to support the Hitachi Global Air Power US. LLC (“HGAP”) factory production and aftermarket operations. This group is responsible for local and international sourcing and procurement activities in support of the Global Supply Chain. The Manager of Supply Chain Management will also have critical input in supplier selection for the company through purchasing council and supply base consolidation and assessment.\nIn addition to procurement responsibilities, the group also oversees the material planning process. It controls the material planning parameters in SAP and updates them accordingly to strike the proper balance between inventory levels and production requirements. Manages the on-time delivery (OTD) and quality level of incoming materials working with in-house warehouse management and quality. The Manager will work very closely with Manufacturing and Materials Planning teams to make sure that we minimize all shortages on the shop floor. Monitoring the flow of incoming material, processing defer and cancel messages, and expediting material are included in the daily activities. This position also manages Quality notifications and invoicing issues for resolution. The Purchasing Manager helps develop core supplier relationships with a mandate to meet organizational standards in respect to quality, service and best commercial value. This role is responsible for policy compliance for the acquisition of all goods and services within HGAP.\nThis position is located on-site in Michigan City, Indiana.\nDuties and responsibilities:\nLead a team that performs local and international sourcing and delivery\nManage the planning and delivery of raw material in support of production\nEnsure execution of delivery from suppliers to support the production schedule\nAnalyze and improve existing processes, systems, practices and procedures\nDevelop individuals and team to enhance performance\nEnsure compliance to company and governing policies for the procurement of goods and services\nCommunicate part status to internal production stakeholders\nDirectly manage supplier delivery on critical path items\nManage working capital with supplier deliveries, inventory management and supplier payments\nEngage Engineering to develop design solutions that support delivery and cost initiatives\nWork with other Hitachi Global Air Power business units on alignment of procurement and sourcing strategies\nManage and develop appropriate relationships with suppliers to maximize value to the business\nAssist with establishing Accurate SAP Planning Parameters and Material Replenishment Strategies\nDaily Supplier Management and Communication to support production requirements\nParticipate in the daily Customer One meeting, and assist in resolving part delivery delays, impacting the customer\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications:\nEducation:· BS Degree or equivalent work experience, preferred\nProfessional experience:\nSAP knowledge required\n10 years’ purchasing, planning or supply chain experience within industrial manufacturing· \nKnowledge of MRP system(s) (SAP) and Microsoft Office applications· \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills a must\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business conditions, and work well across all levels of the organization\nAbility to creatively solve problems\nSelf- Motivated and Assertive\nStrong interpersonal and active listening skills\nBuild and coach teams \nKey behaviors: ·\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work within a cross-functional, collaborative environment· \nStrong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor· \nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills· \nCandidate must work well in a team environment.· \nStrict attention to detail· \nAbility to manage multiple tasks efficiently daily· \nMust be results-oriented, high energy, and a representative of the Hitachi Global Air Power Values\nDirect reports: · Buyers\nThe successful candidate is responsible for complying with Hitachi Global Air Power Code of Ethics and related policies.
