We are looking for someone to grow into in this specialized role” - Waqas Tofique, Hiring Manager.\nHow you’ll make an impact\nLead mechanical and seismic design and qualification activities for HV circuit breakers in accordance with international standards and customer specifications, including IEEE 693, IEC 62271, and utility-specific seismic requirements.\nPerform and interpret dynamic analyses such as modal analysis, response spectrum analysis (RSA), and transient dynamic simulations using FEA tools (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS) to assess equipment seismic performance.\nDevelop, validate, and improve finite element models of circuit breakers, support structures, and substation equipment, ensuring correlation with laboratory shake-table testing and field performance data.\nParticipate in R & D Product Development activities adhering to project schedules, costs, and meeting customer expectations.\nPrepare technical documentation and customer deliverables, including seismic qualification reports, calculations, and design recommendations.\nProvide support to a global team of seismic engineers through training, knowledge sharing, and active collaboration on all projects.\nProvide direct support, including direct participation on mechanical and seismic testing programs and provide hands-on support to ensure successful testing campaigns in Swedish and abroad testing facilities. \nYou will be working in a multidisciplinary technical environment where mechanical and electrical considerations are necessary. \nConvert theoretical results into reality in actual design suggestions in cooperation with product development team.\nYour background\nYou hold a M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering. \nStrong background in structural dynamics, earthquake engineering, and finite element analysis.\nKnowledge of material behavior, damping characterization, and experimental modal testing.\nExperience with HV substation equipment, direct circuit breakers is a plus.\nAs a person you get motivated by solving problems and collaborating with others. You have good communication skills and the courage to take on responsibility.
