In this hands-on role, you will be the voice of the customer on site and a key driver of our quality culture-leading problem-solving, operational quality assurance, and continuous improvement across the plant and supply base. You will implement and maintain the local Quality Management System, ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal standards, and act as backup to the Quality Manager for site quality operations. The preferred base is Jumet (Charleroi area). This role is primarily on-site; limited hybrid flexibility may be possible depending on operational needs. Occasional domestic and international travel (approx. 10%) is expected.\nHow you’ll make an impact\nLead end-to-end customer complaint resolution, perform root-cause analysis, and drive CAPA with closed-loop feedback.\nServe as the voice of the customer; coordinate qualification and communicate quality performance and improvements.\nManage internal and supplier nonconformities, including rapid containment, risk assessment, and structured problem solving (8D, 5-Why).\nOversee deviation/waiver requests, assess risks, and implement mitigations.\nPlan and execute product, process, and internal audits (incl. GQSA); track and close findings; support external/ISO audits.\nImplement and maintain the local QMS/IMS aligned with ISO 9001 and PGHV; own ADONIS documentation and deliver quality training.\nDrive Cost of Poor Quality reduction via improvement projects; report KPIs and facilitate Lessons Learned.\nCoach teams on APQP, SPC, MSA, capability analysis, and Six Sigma; champion a strong safety, integrity, and quality culture.\nYour background\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.\n2-10+ years of manufacturing quality experience (junior/regular/senior) in lean/QMS environments.\nProficient in 8D, APQP, SPC, sampling, process capability, and PFMEA; Six Sigma certification is a plus.\nSolid metrology and MSA knowledge; experienced with supplier quality, nonconformities, deviations, and audits.\nStrong customer orientation and cross-functional leadership; proficient in French and English (spoken and written).\nWilling to travel up to 10% and live Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity.\nMore about us\nWe pride ourselves on offering a holistic range of competitive benefits to support your financial, physical and mental wellbeing and personal development.
