And that’s where you come in.\nJob Description:\nHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Automation Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.\nWe are looking for someone who is passionate about software design and best practices who can come up with new solutions by applying design patterns but also take pragmatic decisions in the best interests of project delivery. You should be able to use a variety of design approaches, have a strong attention to detail and be comfortable in documenting design precisely and in a traceable way to requirements and test cases, particularly when modelling using UML/SysML sequence diagrams.\nKey accountabilities:\nComponent requirements analysis using input subsystem requirements and design\nComponent design analysis and producing the component architecture and design specification in compliance with the SIL 0 requirements of EN 50128.\nWriting interface specifications including documenting and describing the message formats.\nDevelop component software according to coding standards.\nDevelop component test scripts in Python using the in-house test framework.\nMuch of the software is safety related and requires adherence to software processes, coding standards, cyber security standards and safety standards such as Cenelec EN 50128.\nRequired skills/knowledge:\nBachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology or equivalent.\nIdeally you will have at least 5 years’ experience in software development and demonstrated ability to produce quality design documentation.\nKnowledge of enterprise integration patterns down to object orient design is expected.\nExperience in C++, Java or similar object orient languages, as well as XML, XSLT, MySQL and unit testing frameworks.\nDemonstrated experience writing software requirements.\nDemonstrated experience in object-oriented design.\nDemonstrable capacity to work independently and collaboratively.\nDemonstrable ability to deliver to tight deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work\nReal time/semi-real time software design/development experience.\nExperience in the rail industry would be beneficial.\nAt Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
