You will support the development of analytics solutions by extracting, transforming, and preparing data, building reusable datasets, and implementing analytical workflows.\nThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on coding, problem solving, and working with large datasets, while contributing to real-world engineering and operational improvements.\nKey Responsibilities\nData Engineering & Preparation\nBuild and maintain data pipelines within Databricks.\nExtract, transform, and validate data from multiple sources.\nDevelop reusable datasets and analytical tables for Data Science projects.\nEnsure data quality, consistency, and reliability across analytical workflows.\nAnalytics Development\nTranslate requirements from Data Scientists into efficient and maintainable code.\nDevelop data processing solutions using PySpark, SQL, and Pandas.\nSupport feature engineering activities for machine learning and advanced analytics projects.\nInvestigate data anomalies and support root-cause analysis activities.\nOptimise data queries and processing logic for performance and scalability.\nCollaboration\nWork closely with Data Scientists to support model development and deployment.\nCollaborate with engineering stakeholders to understand operational data sources and business requirements.\nContribute to code reviews and technical discussions.\nDocument datasets, code, and analytical processes.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve existing data pipelines and analytical processes.\nPromote coding standards and best practices.\nStay up to date with developments in Databricks, Spark, and modern data platforms.\nEssential Requirements\nExperience developing analytical solutions using Databricks.\nStrong proficiency in PySpark.\nStrong SQL skills, including writing and optimising complex queries.\nExperience using Python and Pandas for data analysis and transformation.\nFamiliar with Airflow, Kafka\nExperience with with Docker, Kubernetes is a plus\nExperience with other stream processing like Flink is a plus\nExperience working with large-scale datasets.\nAbility to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.\nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills.\nGood communication and stakeholder engagement skills.\nExperience working in collaborative Agile teams.\nDesirable Requirements\nExperience within engineering, rail, transportation, manufacturing, industrial, or asset-intensive industries.\nExposure to machine learning workflows and feature engineering.\nExperience with Delta Lake and Spark optimisation.\nFamiliarity with Azure Data Platform technologies.\nKnowledge of Power BI or Grafana.\nExperience using Git/version control.\nAbout us\nWe’re a global, team of innovators.
