Responsible for the technical leadership, design, review, coordination, and successful delivery of protection, control, SCADA, telecommunications, AC/DC auxiliary systems, and associated substation engineering solutions throughout tendering, execution, commissioning, and handover phases\nLocation, (Hybrid) with 3 days in Dublin Office\nHow you'll make an impact:\nAct as the technical lead for assigned projects and provide overall responsibility for secondary engineering activities from concept through commissioning.\nLead, coordinate, supervise, and mentor engineering teams, external design partners, panel builders, suppliers, and subcontractors.\nProvide technical guidance to engineers, technicians, apprentices, and support personnel.\nManage engineering interfaces across primary, civil, telecoms, commissioning, quality, planning, supply chain, and project management functions.\nPrepare, review, and approve protection and control deliverables including: Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Protection and control schematics, Interlocking and logic diagrams, AC/DC schematics, Wiring and termination diagrams, I/O schedules, Cable schedules and block diagrams, Panel layouts and bills of materials\nDesign and validate protection philosophies, relay settings, trip matrices, control logic, interlocking schemes, and protection coordination studies.\nAnalyse customer specifications, grid standards, tender documents, and technical requirements.\nDevelop technical specifications, functional design specifications, design intent documents, testing requirements, and operational documentation.\nProduce engineering calculations relating to protection systems, AC/DC auxiliary supplies, CTs, VTs, cable sizing, batteries, chargers, and associated systems.\nDevelop circuit diagrams for greenfield and brownfield projects and update existing drawings for retrofit and expansion works.\nProvide technical support during tendering and project execution activities.\nPrepare primary and secondary engineering drawings and bills of quantities where required.\nReview supplier quotations, technical offers, and vendor documentation.\nEnsure supplier solutions are technically compliant, fit for purpose, and aligned with project requirements.\nSupport design verification, pre-FAT, FAT, SAT, commissioning, energisation, and customer acceptance activities.\nReview and develop testing procedures, inspection plans, and commissioning documentation.\nResolve technical issues arising during manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning.\nSupport site activities, customer queries, punch-list closure, as-built documentation, and project handover.\nWork closely with sales, tendering, project management, site installation, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle\nProvide regular progress reporting and technical risk assessments.\nEnsure all deliverables comply with applicable IEC, EN, utility, grid code, customer, and company standards and procedures.\nYour Background:\nStrong experience in HV/MV substation secondary engineering and EPC project delivery.\nDemonstrated expertise in: Protection and control systems, SCADA, RTU and telecommunications integration, Substation automation systems, AC/DC auxiliary systems, AIS and GIS substations, Primary and secondary equipment interfaces\nStrong understanding of IEC, EN, utility, and grid code requirements.\nEffective technical leadership and stakeholder management.\nSuccessful FAT, SAT, commissioning, and customer acceptance.\nContinuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and project performance.\nSupported the professional development of engineers and technical teams.\nWhat We Offer:\nWe believe great work thrives in an environment where people feel genuinely supported and fairly rewarded.
