We are looking for a dedicated Service Commissioning Engineer to join our Service team based in Zaventem Belgium. In this field-based role, you will work directly with customers to commission, install, test, and maintain high-voltage transformers and related electrical equipment.\nYou will play a critical role in ensuring reliable and safe operation of our systems, performing diagnostic tests, providing technical advice, and supporting continuous improvements in product performance. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in high-voltage environments, travel across the region, and contribute to the energy transition in a hands-on way.\nHow you’ll make an impact\nCommission, install, test, and maintain high-voltage transformers and electrical systems at customer sites.\n\nPerform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on transformer and substation equipment.\n\nConduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical and control systems, including protection relays and MV panels.\n\nProvide technical advice and support to customers, ensuring high-quality service delivery.\n\nCollaborate with engineering teams to improve product reliability and service performance.\n\nPrepare detailed service and commissioning reports in line with company standards.\n\nEnsure all work complies with Hitachi Energy’s strict safety rules, as well as local and industry regulations.\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers through professionalism, safety, and technical excellence.\n\nYour background\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a closely related discipline.\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience in service, commissioning, or maintenance - including at least 2 years in high-voltage environments.\n\nIn-depth knowledge of transformer design, operation, and protection systems.\n\nStrong electrical troubleshooting and analytical skills, with proficiency in diagnostic tools and relevant software.\n\nFluent in English (B2) and good knowledge of Dutch (B1) - safety communication in both languages is essential.\n\nDemonstrated safety mindset with the ability to stop or refuse unsafe work.\n\nWillingness to travel extensively within Belgium and occasionally abroad for service calls.\n\nMore about us\nWe pride ourselves on offering a holistic range of competitive benefits to support your financial, physical, and mental wellbeing, as well as your professional growth.
