You will also support preventive maintenance activities and ensure the reliability, availability, and safety of critical test equipment and infrastructure.\nYou will be part of High Voltage Direct Current in Ludvika. We develop, manufacture, and sell DC transmission systems worldwide. HVDC technology is used to transfer electrical energy over long distances, enable power transmission through subsea cables, and connect power grids operating at different frequencies.\nThis role is based in Ludvika, Sweden.\nHow you’ll make an impact\nDevelop and maintain PLC-based automation and control systems for advanced HVDC test equipment, including MACH.\nDesign and enhance HMI solutions to improve usability, efficiency, and operational safety.\nDiagnose and resolve automation, control, and communication issues across complex test environments.\nLead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions to improve system reliability and performance.\nSupport commissioning, upgrades, and lifecycle management of test and automation systems.\nEnsure high equipment availability through preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.\nCollaborate with engineering, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust automation solutions.\nUtilize CMMS and other digital tools to track maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvement initiatives.\nEnsure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and industrial control system requirements.\nMaintain technical documentation and provide technical guidance on automation systems and test equipment.\nYour background\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.\nHands-on experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and industrial automation platforms.\nExperience developing and maintaining HMI/SCADA solutions in industrial environments.\nKnowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or OPC UA.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, control system documentation, and instrumentation drawings.\nExperience troubleshooting automated systems and performing root cause analysis.\nStrong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.\nFluency in English, both written and spoken.\nMore about us\nWe believe great work thrives in an environment where people feel genuinely supported and fairly rewarded.
