We are continuing to grow, and are looking for a Financial Analyst join our team.\nThis role is a hybrid position in our Long Island, NY HQ.\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial planning, cash flow analysis, working capital management, and management reporting activities across the organization.\nThis position offers an excellent opportunity to work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Project Management, Sales, and Executive Leadership while contributing to the financial performance and strategic objectives of the business.\nThe ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, business acumen, and the ability to convert financial data into actionable insights.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nCash Flow Management & Analysis\nPrepare and maintain short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.\nMonitor actual cash performance against forecast and explain variances.\nSupport liquidity planning and cash optimization initiatives.\nAnalyze cash conversion cycles and identify opportunities for improvement.\nAssist with weekly and monthly cash reporting packages.\nWorking Capital Management\nAnalyze trends in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Inventory balances.\nMonitor key working capital metrics including DSO, DPO, and cash conversion cycle.\nPartner with business leaders to improve collections performance and optimize working capital utilization.\nSupport initiatives to improve billing, collections, and inventory management processes.\nFP&A Support\nAssist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.\nSupport monthly financial reviews and variance analysis.\nDevelop and maintain financial models to support business decision-making.\nPerform revenue, expense, margin, and profitability analysis.\nSupport department leaders with budget tracking and financial performance reporting.\nReporting & Business Analysis\nPrepare recurring management reports, dashboards, and KPI analyses.\nSupport monthly close activities through financial analysis and reporting.\nIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting business performance.\nAssist in ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned.\nSupport the preparation of presentations for senior leadership.\nProcess Improvement\nAssist in improving financial reporting processes and analytical capabilities.\nContribute to automation initiatives within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and reporting platforms.\nRecommend improvements to reporting accuracy, efficiency, and data quality.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.\n3-5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, Accounting, or Financial Analysis.\nStrong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.\nExperience analyzing financial statements, cash flow, and operational metrics.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems.\nExperience in a software, technology, engineering, or project-based business environment.\nFamiliarity with business intelligence and reporting tools (Power BI preferred).\nUnderstanding of working capital management and cash forecasting methodologies.\nCPA, CMA, CFA Level I, or MBA coursework a plus.\nKey Success Metrics\nThe successful candidate will be evaluated on:\nAccuracy and reliability of cash flow forecasting.\nImprovement in working capital performance.\nQuality and timeliness of management reporting.\nEffectiveness of financial analysis and business insights.\nContribution to budgeting and forecasting processes.\nSupport of data-driven decision-making across the organization.\nHMMS, (Hitachi Rail CD U.S. Ltd.) is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer\nThe compensation range posted for this position represents the anticipated minimum and maximum compensation for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate.
