The Product Specialist is responsible for providing pre-sales services including system engineering, preliminary requirements/scope development, user interface mockups, technical product presentations, training, troubleshooting and technical account management.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nUnder the guidance of a Product Manager, functioning as the junior Product Owner and leading all aforementioned development and Scrum teams using created Agile Epics and Storie\nInterface with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Training, Project Management, and Systems Engineering as a customer advocate for features and functionality designed to enhance and strengthen existing and future product offering\nProvides technical marketing support in the design and integration of customer application\nConduct product demonstrations and technical overviews in support of industry trade shows and on-site customer opportunities\nAssist and participate in the development of business plans, marketing strategy, market penetration plans and order forecasts in assigned product lines including Product Status Presentation\nMonitor customer requirements with both existing and future products\nInvestigates product issues at customer sites as part of the customer support escalation path\nResearch competitor pricing and positioning of product base\nResearch vendor offering and technology feasibility for solutions\nAssist in the preparation and presentation of demonstrations and of company products\nIdentifies and readies products for customer demonstrations\nAssesses competitor systems/products and determine their functionality accuracy\nProvides in-house product testing and evaluation\nProvides on-site software/hardware installations and upgrades at client’s facilities\nAnalyzes and correlates quantitative data to real event data\nPrepares all materials to be needed at trade shows\nPrepares trade show booth as needed\nProvide technical support to the sales force\nProvides product specifications\nTravels to customer facilities as needed to provide pre and post-sales support\nPerforms follow-up technical support of specific applications\nOther duties as assigned\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent, computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering preferred\nSome Engineering and/or junior product owner experience\nPreferred Experience:\nSome experience launching and maintaining hardware and software technical products \nSkills & Competencies:\nWorking knowledge of both networking and application related protocol and technologies\nStrong log file and basic SQL queries\nEffective troubleshooting skills and ability to root cause product issues and problems\nA high level of achievement and a motivation to succeed\nAbility to innovate and work independently\nAbility to travel on short notice to customer facilities at least 30% travel\nExcellent presentation skills\nStrong sense of urgency\nStrong written and oral communication skills\nExcellent organizational skills\nExcellent customer service skills\nStrong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a complete manner\nAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize\nStrong Computer skills including MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and ability to learn new software programs such as Axapta and Atlassian products\nHMMS, (Hitachi Rail CD U.S. Ltd.)is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer\nThe compensation range posted for this position represents the anticipated minimum and maximum compensation for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate.
