For those outside of those regions, we would consider remote employment with travel to our offices on an as-needed basis.\nThe Solutions Architect is responsible for designing a technical solution in response to Requests for Proposal (RFP) specification requirements, as, well as SOW requests, and producing the technical content (the completed compliance matrix, diagrams, solution description, etc.) of a formal proposal. This includes developing and defining the system architecture / technical solution, defining the project deployment plan based on required engineering development, gathering, analyzing, and formatting information, writing drafts, ensuring compliance with the RFP, and seeking the appropriate approvals.\nThe Solutions Architect will work with the Account Manager and Proposal Lead from bid board to proposal submittal in determining the win strategy, as well as leveraging the Product Management, Deployment, and other departments as deemed necessary. In addition, where required, the Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the support of the definition of software and hardware development and interfaces for the proposed solution.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nReads RFPs, including technical requirements\nAssigns compliance matrix and sends to product managers for responses\nResponds to overall system requirements and reviews all product manager responses\nCaptures costs, including requests for vendor quotes\nPerforms evaluation of system alternatives and assessment of risks and costs, including:Scope\nTechnology\nQuality\nTime\nResources\n\nAnalyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications\nDesigns the proposed solution\nDetermines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility\nCollaborates with product management, systems engineers, pricing, and management\nDesigns system architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements and provides for present and future cross functional requirements and interfaces\nCreates solution Architecture diagrams, final customer-facing requirements responses, and technical description of the solutionsProvides input for documentation on new or existing systems\nStays connected to the industry and seeks out industry and competitor trends, communicating such trends to management. Understands new product development as it relates to developing the proposal technical solution\nMaintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintains proposal support databases\nServes as technical resource within systems deployment team\nUpdates the bid library as required\n\nQualifications :\nEngineering and / or technical background (Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Engineering is preferred)\n4-10 years of related systems engineering experience preferred\nComprehensive knowledge of system architectural principles, methods, and techniques\nWorking knowledge of communication technology and protocols including modems, routers, J1939, J1708, RS232, VoIP, Ethernet / POE, switches, etc.\nNetwork knowledge including WLAN, cellular, VPN, etc.\nHardware knowledge such cameras, DVR, LED / LCD signs, etc.\nPublic Transit / ITS experience a major plus, especially rail systems\nExpert working in Microsoft Excel, and Visio, comfortable in Microsoft Word\nStrong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a comprehensive manner; ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize (Organized, timely, corporative, and analytical)\nComfortable presenting to Senior Management\nExceptional written, presentation, interpersonal and communications skills\nExpert in Excel, Word, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint\nFamiliarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams preferred\nExperience with government procurement preferred\nAbility to travel when required, work late and work over the weekend on occasion to meet deadlines\nKnowledge and/or experience with the following is preferred:\nIT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud development\nEngineering and software architecture design\nBusiness analysis\nProject and product management\nStrong understanding of the transit industry and intelligent transit systems used on public transportation\nHMMS, (Hitachi Rail CD U.S. Ltd.)is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer\nThe compensation range posted for this position represents the anticipated minimum and maximum compensation for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate.
