# Software Development Engineer

The Role: We're looking for a motivated Software Development Engineer to design, build and maintain core parts of VSP One Object and Hitachi Content Platform. You'll work with architects, product owners, QA, DevOps and Support to deliver storage features that are reliable, fast and scalable. What you'll bring: Design, develop, test and maintain features and services across the Object portfolio, including S3-compatible APIs, distributed metadata, deployment tooling and platform subsystems. Write clean, modular, maintainable code with thorough unit and integration tests, and take part in code reviews. Find and fix complex defects, performance bottlenecks and reliability problems in distributed storage components. Help with customer escalations and sustaining work: root-cause analysis, fixes and verification. Follow and promote engineering best practices for CI/CD, security, CVE remediation and observability (telemetry, metrics, dashboards). Help build and improve automated test frameworks, including functional, performance and scale testing. Work in an Agile/Scrum team to deliver high-quality releases on schedule.
