No matter your background, education, or career path, if you share our vision to create extraordinary experiences, you belong at HITT.\nAssistant Safety ManagerJob Description:\nThe Assistant Safety Manager is responsible for the regular safety inspection of assigned HITT projects. This individual supports the Project Teams in the managing of safety conditions and performance of the project.\nThis position reports to and receives direction from a Safety Manager and does not supervise any direct reports. Assistant managers are expected to work from the project jobsite(s) as necessary. While learning paths, growth, and promotional opportunity vary, most team members are assistant managers for up to three years.\nResponsibilities\nConducts on site safety inspections utilizing web-based H&S application system with some direction and assistance\n\nEvaluates project compliance with federal, state, local, corporate and client safety regulations and procedures\n\nEvaluates safety performance of subcontractors working on HITT projects\n\nReviews project safety inspections with Site Operations\n\nDistributes project safety inspections to key project team members and subcontractors\n\nTracks open safety issues to closure\n\nResearches/evaluates OSHA regulations to address project needs, at direction of H&S manager\n\nParticipates in accident/incident investigation with assistance or direction from other HITT H&S Department members\n\nDelivers safety toolbox meetings\n\nAssists with on site health safety training\n\nReviews Job Hazard Analysis with assistance or direction\n\nAssists in development of site specific safety plans\n\nParticipates in project safety and subcontractor meetings as needed\n\nAssists in development and delivery of project H&S orientations\n\nElevates H&S concerns\n\nAssists with safety signage selection for projects\n\nAssists with managing and reviewing of project documentation requirements\n\nResearches and collaborates to obtain information to resolve H&S-related issues\n\nIdentifies or selects specialized H&S/protective equipment for projects with some assistance\n\nAssists with execution of project wide safety stand downs\n\nCreates and maintains positive working relationships with HITT project teams and subcontractors\n\nQualifications\n2-5 years safety experience\n\nA four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred\n\nIn lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable\n\nCurrent First Aid AED/CPR certification a plus.\n\n2-5+ years’ experience with a general contractor.\n\nOSHA 30 certificate required.\n\nA CSP, ASP, CHST or other Safety related designation preferred.\n\nAbility to write professional reports, business correspondence, and technical procedures.\n\nProficient documentation, record keeping and organizational skills required.\n\nProficiency in Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.\n\nExcellent communication skills.\n\nThe ability to multi-task and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.\n\nIn accordance with Virginia Senate Bill 215 (SB 215), the base salary range for this position is:\n$77,000.00 - $112,000.00\nCompensation in other cities and states may vary. HITT Contracting offers a competitive total benefits and compensation package including performance-based bonuses, premium health care coverage including vision and dental, employer-matched 401(k), wellness reimbursement program, paid holidays and time-off, and other voluntary benefits and leave types.
