Come and help us build it.\nThe Role\nThe Robotics Software Engineer connects each vehicle-specific control interface to the Hive robotics platform. This person ensures that the complete robotics software stack operates reliably on the physical machine.\nThe focus is system integration rather than the development of new perception or planning algorithms.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop machine drivers, software adapters, and hardware abstraction interfaces.\n\nConnect vehicle state, commands, sensors, diagnostics, and telemetry to the Hive platform.\n\nIntegrate vehicle-specific functionality with the autonomy and control stack.\n\nConfigure and calibrate the software platform for each machine.\n\nIntegrate sensors, coordinate frames, timing, networking, and data interfaces.\n\nDebug issues spanning robotics software, networking, embedded controls, and physical hardware.\n\nDevelop automated integration, regression, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.\n\nBuild tools for diagnostics, telemetry analysis, logging, and commissioning.\n\nValidate end-to-end system behavior on real machines.\n\nSupport field bring-up, testing, and customer acceptance.\n\nDevelop reusable software integration patterns for future vehicle platforms.\n\nWork with core platform teams to improve interfaces and eliminate vehicle-specific forks.\n\nQualifications\n5+ years of experience developing or integrating software for robotics, autonomous vehicles, or complex physical systems.\n\nStrong C++ and Python development skills.\n\nStrong Linux development and debugging experience.\n\nExperience with robotics middleware such as ROS 2, DDS, or equivalent systems.\n\nExperience developing drivers and interfaces for sensors, actuators, and embedded controllers.\n\nUnderstanding of networking, time synchronization, coordinate frames, calibration, and telemetry.\n\nExperience testing software on real robotic systems.\n\nAbility to diagnose problems across hardware and software boundaries.\n\nExperience with simulation, automated testing, or hardware-in-the-loop systems.\n\nWillingness to work hands-on with machines and travel regularly.\nWhy Join Hive?\nJoin Hive at a pivotal stage as we expand into the US and build a new category in Physical AI.
