With better communication, more insights, and less “noise”, we are modernizing what it means for businesses and their employees to truly feel safe.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW:\nHiveWatch is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform Team, where you'll build and operate mission-critical edge infrastructure that connects our SaaS platform to customer systems. You'll help ensure exceptional performance, reliability, and observability across our distributed environment.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO:\nImprove the reliability of mission-critical systems including production monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning\n\nDebug and resolve complex production issues across the full stack, from infrastructure to application code\n\nParticipate in a regular on-call rotation to provide 24/7 coverage for critical systems\n\nPerform root cause analysis requiring deep code-level investigation and implement preventive measures\n\nBuild automation and tooling to reduce operational toil and improve system reliability\n\nMaintain CI/CD pipelines, observability infrastructure, and database performance optimization\n\nIncrease the resiliency, scalability, and maintainability of production environments\n\nMaintain on-call procedures and disaster recovery processes\n\nContribute to on-call runbooks, postmortems, and reliability best practices\n\nOUR TECH STACK:\nLanguages: Kotlin, Rust, TypeScript, and Python\n\nDeployments: GitHub Actions, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Helm\n\nInfrastructure: AWS (Kinesis, Serverless, RDS, EKS), Kubernetes, Docker, Postgres, IoT Edge, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nStrong experience with AWS architecture and services\n\nExperience in physical security, IoT, or edge computing environments\n\nExperience with advanced AWS services (Kinesis, Lambda, EKS, RDS)\n\nExperience with Terraform and Terragrunt specifically\n\nBackground in high-availability, multi-tenant SaaS environments\n\nExperience participating in incident response and post-mortem processes\n\nKnowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements\n\nExperience with edge computing and distributed system architectures\n\nPrevious experience in a startup or high-growth environment (50-200 employees)\n\nExperience with our tech stack: Kotlin, Rust, TypeScript, Python\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\n5+ years of software engineering experience with strong coding skills in production environments\n\n3+ years of SRE, DevOps, or production operations experience\n\nStrong experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes)\n\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)\n\nProficiency in at least one object oriented programming language in our tech stack (Java, Kotlin, Python)\n\nHands-on experience with relational databases and SQL performance optimization\n\nExperience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, or equivalent)\n\nStrong debugging skills across distributed systems and microservices architectures\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience\n\nADDITIONAL INFO:\nSalary range for this position: $160,000 to $200,000 per year\n\nEligible to participate in HiveWatch Equity Incentive Plan\n\n*Final offer will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of relevant experience and expertise, location, and other business considerations.\nBenefits & Culture:\nAt HiveWatch, we’re passionate about taking care of our people - and it shows in the benefits we offer.
