You’ll have the opportunity to influence driver safety, use technology and data to reduce fleet risk, lead a fleet support team, and work directly with Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Human Resources, and company leadership.\nWith a diverse operating environment that includes construction, mining, heavy equipment, and commercial vehicles, this position offers both the complexity and the opportunity to make a measurable difference.\nWhy work for H&K Group, Inc.?\nCompetitive salary commensurate with experience\n100% Company-paid Health Benefits\n401(k) Savings and Investment Plan\nTuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs\nCompany provided on-the-job transportation to meet job responsibilities\nResponsibilities\nLead Driver Safety & Qualification\nOversee the company's Driver Qualification File program for CDL and non-CDL drivers.\nServe as a key decision-maker in the evaluation and approval of new driver candidates.\nReview MVRs, medical cards, CDL credentials, endorsements, road tests, driver history.\nEstablish driver classifications and authorization levels based on qualifications, experience, training, and vehicle type.\nMaintain audit-ready driver qualification records and procedures. \nTurn Fleet Data Into Action\nUse Lytx, SambaSafety, MVR data, accident history, and violation trends to proactively identify fleet and driver risk.\nIdentify drivers who may benefit from additional coaching, mentoring, or retraining.\nCoordinate corrective action plans and driving restrictions when necessary.\nTrack meaningful safety metrics including preventable incidents, high-risk drivers, MVR violations, credential expirations, DQF compliance, and coaching completion.\nProvide fleet safety trends and recommendations to company leadership. \nLead & Improve the Fleet Administration Function\nSupervise and develop fleet administrators and fleet support personnel.\nEstablish priorities, procedures, performance expectations, and consistent processes across the organization.\nOversee administrative programs involving driver records, tolls, vehicle databases, telematics, and compliance documentation.\nIdentify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve record accuracy, and strengthen fleet compliance.\nYou'll work closely with Operations, Safety, Human Resources, Maintenance, Division Leadership, field personnel, vendors, and other fleet stakeholders to balance safety, compliance, and operational needs.\nWe're looking for someone who combines fleet knowledge, sound judgment, leadership, and a strong commitment to driver safety.\nQualifications\nRequired Skills, Education, and Experience\nMinimum 5 years of experience in fleet safety, fleet coordination, equipment management, transportation compliance.\nWorking knowledge of DOT/FMCSA requirements, fleet compliance, driver qualification, and inspection requirements.\nStrong organizational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nThe ability to make sound decisions involving driver qualifications and fleet risk.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with drivers, supervisors, operations personnel, and company leadership.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet or asset-management systems.\nExperience with Lytx, SambaSafety, telematics, or similar driver-risk platforms is highly desirable.\nStrength in written and verbal communication skills and prior experience delivery of training.\nPhysical Demands\nFrequently required to\nWalk\nLift and/or move up to 75 pounds\nRegularly required to talk and/or hear\nSpecific vision abilities include\nClose\nDistance\nPeripheral\nDepth perception\nWork Environment\nOccasionally exposed to\nMoving mechanical parts\nVibration\nHigh, precarious places\nFumes, dust or airborne particles\nOutside weather conditions\nNoise level is usually moderate\nHours regularly exceed 40/week\nRegularly on call 24/7\nThe H&K Group, Inc. provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
