The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized, competent, and professional individual who manages the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering projects including, but not limited to, highways, subdivisions, and land development. Individual should possess a strong knowledge of stormwater, erosion and sediment control, water and sewer design principles and should be able to interpret and apply municipal land use ordinances.\nWhy work for H&K Group, Inc.?\nCompetitive salary commensurate with experience\n100% Company-paid Health Benefits\n401(k) Savings and Investment Plan\nTuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs\nAdditional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more\nResponsibilities\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities \nPerforms all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies\nPrepare thorough site analysis to determine allowable density and layout constraints based upon municipal land use ordinances and site-specific features.\nPrepare horizontal and vertical alignment of street layout and profiles.\nPrepare detailed grading plans.\nPrepare thorough stormwater management design based upon municipal land use ordinances and/or State best management practices/regulations.\nPrepare thorough water supply and sewage facilities design.\nPrepare erosion and sedimentation control/NPDES plans and post construction stormwater management designs in accordance with State best management practices/regulations.\nPrepare utility design and manage utility coordination for various land development projects.\nManage sub-consultants related to geotechnical, wetlands, traffic, etc.\nTravel to field, project, Township, etc. meetings to communicate project design aspects with Project Managers, Engineers, Township officials and Clients. (A company fleet vehicle will be provided in such instances.)\nAbility to write comprehensive and detailed narratives and various forms of correspondence.\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\nRequired Skills, Education, and Experience\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university OR one year of related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered \n\nAbility to read blueprints and job-related documents. \nStrong knowledge of stormwater, erosion, and sediment control\nStrong knowledge of water and sewer design principles\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nAble to interpret and apply municipal land use ordinances\nBasic computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)\nExperience with specific programs includingAutoCAD 2017 (or later version)\nAutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 (or more recent version)\nHydraflow \n\nDriver’s license and clean driving record\nAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed\nAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)\nPreferred Skills, Education, and Experience\n2 years of relevant experience and/or training\nExperience using VTPSUHM\nOSHA or other relevant safety certifications\nPhysical Demands\nOccasionally required toStand, walk, sit\nUse hands to finger, handle, feel\n\nRegularly required to talk and hear\nVision abilities includeClose\nDistance\nColor\nAbility to adjust focus \n\nWork Environment\nOccasionally exposed to outside weather conditions\nNoise level is usually moderate\nHours regularly exceed 40 hours a week\nThe H&K Group, Inc. provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
