The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates project activities to ensure goals of project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Review schedules with the superintendent for each project including the required timetables for work performed by subcontractors\nWork as a team with assigned foreman and superintendent to build project in a controlled manner. Manage and coordinate with subcontractor\nCoordinate with purchasing the requisition of materials and furnish information for proper coding of invoices\nProvide modifications resulting in change orders\nShares with the Estimator in the processing of plan revisions for change orders and distribute as required\nProcess Additional Work Authorizations (AWA’s) for change order submission\nCoordinate and process change orders or technical problems with client requirements, suppliers, superintendents, and subcontractors\nReview project cost reports each day\nVisit project sites for troubleshooting and for the purposes of ensuring project quality. Site visits to be at least once a week \nOversee project security and safety\nPrepare project AIA Billing requisitions with project secretary\nReview all purchase orders, delivery tickets, subcontractor requisitions, and invoices to see that they are coded correctly for project costing\nMaintain all project files: submittals, shop drawings, maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, punch lists\nOccasionally meet with all subcontractors/suppliers for project coordination\nMaintain a log for all submittals and shop drawings\nAssist with new project transitions and pre-job planning\nChair all project meetings\nMeet or exceed project objectives as determined in the pre-job planning process\nProvide accurate percent complete status on projects to accounting each month\nConduct a thorough analysis of job costs vs. budget each month\nReport to top management each month on gross margin improvement strategies and accomplishments\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\nRequired Skills, Education, and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited four-year college or universityA combination of education and experience may be considered\n\nFive years of experience in Heavy Civil Constriction relevant to this region\nDriver’s license and clean driving record\nEffective verbal and written communication\nProficient computer skills including internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and specialized project software\nAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed\nAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)\nPreferred Skills, Education, and Experience\nTen years of experience in Heavy Civil Constriction relevant to this region\nCertified PE\nOSHA and/or other applicable safety certifications and training\nPhysical Demands\nRegularly required to:Sit\nUse hands to finder, handle or feel\nTalk or hear\n\nOccasionally required to:Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl\nReach with hands and arms\nLift and/or move up to 10 pounds\n\nSpecific vision abilities:Close\nColor\nAbility to adjust focus\n\nWork Environment\nRegularly required to drive\nOccasionally exposed to outside weather conditions\nNoise level is usually moderate\nRegularly exceeds 40 hours/week\nThe H&K Group, Inc. provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
