The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, professional, and experienced with plant operation and maintenance. Experience with a 320 Wheel loader is preferred but training is available for a conscientious, safety minded individual willing to learn. Must be willing to do outside labor tasks at our plant locations.\nResponsibilities\nEssential Abilities, Duties, and Responsibilities:\nFollows company safety policies and OSHA policies.\nPerform pre and post trip of equipment every day and fill out daily inspection sheets.\nStarts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel/moves joysticks to operate loader.\nMoves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into finished product.\nMoves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled and dumps material into plant bins or dump trucks.\nProvide excellent support to our batch plant manager, while performing all outside duties at our plant location.\nMaintains haul roads that are smooth and safe.\nKeep stockpiles properly pushed up and maintained.\nEnsure product is consistent and loaded into the correct bins.\nPerforms routine maintenance on loader and plant apparatus, such as lubricating and cleaning.\nPerform all work following company policies and procedures.\nQualifications\nRequired Skills, Education, and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) OR one month of related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered\n\nBasic mechanical abilities\nVerbal and written communication skills\nLeadership and teamwork skills\nSelf-motivated and organized\nSafety-focused\nAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed\nAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)\nPreferred Skills, Education, and Experience\n3+ months of related experience and/or training\nExperience with equipment maintenance\nExperience with loader operations\nExperience with Q329 caterpillar trackhoe and LT105 portable crusher\nMSHA or other relevant safety certifications\nPhysical Demands\nRegularly required toSit\nUse hands to finger, handle, or feel\nReach with hands and arms\n\nFrequently required to talk and hear\nOccasionally required toStand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl\nLift and/or move up to 25 pounds\n\nSpecific vision abilities includingDistance\nPeripheral\nDepth perception\n\nWork Environment\nRegularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions\nFrequently exposed toMoving mechanical parts \nVibrations\nFumes or airborne particles\n\nNoise level is usually loud\nAbout Rahns Construction Material Company\nRahns has a long and proud heritage as one of Pennsylvania’s largest concrete suppliers.
