This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who can manage sensitive evidence, make sound technical decisions, and represent the team confidently with attorneys, clients, and senior stakeholders.\nYou will work across computers, mobile devices, cloud platforms, email systems, and other digital sources, combining defensible forensic work with clear communication, practical guidance, and visible ownership of client matters.\nThis is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership, work alongside experienced legal and technical professionals, and help shape how digital forensics matters are delivered.\nResponsibilities\nPlan and conduct defensible forensic collections from computers, mobile devices, cloud platforms, collaboration tools, email systems, and other electronic data sources.\n\nLead or support on-site data collections at client facilities, including domestic and occasional international travel.\n\nPreserve, verify, document, and securely transfer electronically stored information while maintaining chain of custody.\n\nPerform forensic examinations and analysis in support of litigation, regulatory matters, internal investigations, and other client engagements.\n\nUse industry-standard forensic tools to identify, recover, analyze, and report on relevant electronic evidence.\n\nDocument forensic processes, findings, and conclusions in a clear, accurate, and defensible manner.\n\nAssist with the preparation of technical reports, investigation summaries, supporting exhibits, and other client deliverables.\n\nProcess and load data into Relativity and support workspace setup, data review, searches, productions, and related eDiscovery activities.\n\nCollaborate with attorneys, investigators, client stakeholders, eDiscovery professionals, and other technical specialists.\n\nIdentify technical risks, data gaps, and collection challenges and recommend practical solutions.\n\nMaintain current knowledge of digital forensics tools, emerging technologies, cloud platforms, and industry best practices.\n\nManage assigned tasks across multiple matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining appropriate quality controls.\n\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n\n5+ years of digital forensics, forensic technology, incident response, or related eDiscovery experience.\n\nHands-on experience collecting, preserving, and analyzing electronic evidence using defensible methods.\n\nProficiency with forensic tools such as Magnet AXIOM, EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen Forensics, FTK, or Nuix.\n\nExperience with computers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or other cloud data sources.\n\nStrong knowledge of chain of custody, forensic imaging, evidence preservation, and data integrity.\n\nExecutive presence and sound judgment to lead client discussions, explain technical findings, manage expectations, and escalate risk.\n\nAbility to manage multiple matters, produce clear documentation, and travel as needed.\n\nPreferred\nDigital forensics certification such as EnCE, CCE, ACE, CFCE, or GCFA.\n\nExperience with Linux, UNIX, scripting, automation, or open-source forensic tools.\n\nExperience preparing expert reports or supporting testimony in litigation or regulatory matters.\n\nCompensation\nHKA offers an annual salary range of $110,000 to $135,000, along with a competitive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and work-life balance.
