{"id":2454219,"url":"https://alion.io/job/hkbu-assistant-engineer-operation-maintenance-services","title":"Assistant Engineer (Operation Maintenance Services)","company":{"id":2690584,"name":"HKBU","domain":"hkbu.edu.hk","url":"https://alion.io/company/hkbu-edu-hk","size_band":"501-1000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Oracle","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":75,"open_postings":13,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":null,"computed_at":"2026-10-14T06:34:16Z"}},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":"senior","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Hong Kong"],"countries":["HK"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":51000,"max_usd":115000,"period":"year","method":"global_role_cell_scaled_by_country","sample_n":6708},"experience_years_min":8,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-30T02:34:01Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-30","last_verified_at":"2026-10-14T12:46:34Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":14,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":14},"description":"ESTATES OFFICE\nBUILDING SERVICES AND SYSTEMS SECTION\nAssistant Engineer (Operation Maintenance Services) (26270220)\nThe appointee will be a member of the Building Services and Systems in Estates Office and responsible for leading a team of frontline staff and managing contractors to perform the operation and maintenance of building services and fitting-out projects on all campuses of the University.\nResponsibilities:\nTake part in the day-to-day electrical and mechanical (E&M) plant operations including routine maintenance, emergency repair and resume the failure part in case of system breakdown;\nPerform technical tasks, either independently or under the direction of a qualified engineer, contributory to design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of building services systems and equipment;\nPrepare for E&M routine and preventive maintenance plans and perform regular site supervision;\nManage system breakdown to minimise the downtime and impact on operations;\nSite inspection for the building services repair works, fitting-out works, upgrade and improvement works for enhancing the existing system performance, efficiency and sustainability;\nLiaise with end users and contractors in connection with building services installation works, fitting out projects and maintenance contracts;\nMonitor the system performance as well as the plant efficiency;\nEnsure the equipment, system and facilities are serviced and maintained in good conditions;\nPerform shift/emergency duties; and\nAssist in ad hoc tasks and undertake other duties as assigned by seniors.\nRequirements:\nCompleted secondary education or specialised vocational training or above with a minimum of eight years’ relevant post-qualification experience in building services or a higher diploma with substantial years of relevant experience will also be considered;\nFamiliar with statutory requirements and Codes of Practice;\nPossession of a valid Registered Electrical Worker Grade A or above;\nKnowledge of building services engineering and associated work experience in design, installation, operation and maintenance;\nHands-on experience in operation and maintenance of building services and systems;\nPrevious experience in electrical repair and maintenance is highly preferred;\nGood communication, interpersonal and presentation to ensure the user requirements are properly captured; and\nGood command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.\nThe initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years.
