The incumbent will take a leading role in developing, integrating and supporting AI-enabled applications and automation solutions across different areas in the University, while also contributing to application development and system integration in support of our digital transformation towards an AI-enabled community.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, develop, integrate and support AI-enabled applications and automation solutions to enhance University operations and services;\nApply AI-assisted development practices to enhance software delivery, coding, testing, documentation and system modernisation;\nIntegrate AI platforms/tools, application APIs and internal/external systems to automate processes, improve service efficiency and support business needs;\nDevelop, enhance and support web and mobile applications as a secondary focus, including solutions built with React, React Native, Node.js, Java, PHP, Python and related technologies;\nParticipate in the full development lifecycle: requirements gathering, analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance support;\nAssist team lead to prepare system specifications, technical documentation, security/governance notes and user guides;\nEvaluate and adopt emerging AI, agentic, cloud and application technologies to meet evolving business needs;\nCollaborate with other IT teams, vendors, system implementers and user departments; and\nTroubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly and provide support for any IT projects as required.\nRequirements:\nA bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, or a related discipline;\nAt least 6 years of post-qualification experience in application development;\nAt least 3 years of experience in AI-related application development, solution implementation, system integration, automation or related areas;\nStrong hands-on experience in AI-enabled application development, automation and system integration;\nExperience in:Developing or integrating AI-enabled applications, automation solutions or intelligent services to address practical business needs;\nUsing AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, documentation and productivity improvement;\nDeveloping applications with technologies such as React, Node.js, PHP, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.;\nWeb application development and system integration; mobile application development (iOS/Android) would be an advantage;\nDatabase management and operations with tools such as MSSQL and NoSQL DB;\nAgile development, CI/CD and DevOps practices;\nCloud platforms or cloud services would be an advantage;\nOracle WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere Server or Apache is optional and would be an advantage; and\nRobotic Process Automation (RPA) is a plus;\n\nEagerness to learn and develop AI/ML, agentic application and emerging technology skills;\nStrong team player with excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with the team; and\nSelf-motivated, and able to work independently.\nShortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.\nThe initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years.
