We are looking for a high caliber and motivated individual to act as the key data partner of the team, ensuring sufficient and accurate data is available at any time to support index ideation, back-testing, and regular index review and rebalancing activities.Job Duties:\nTo be successful in this role you will leverage your domain expertise and passion for the industry to:\nResponsibilities:\n· Ensure sufficient, accurate and timely market and financial data to support index ideation, back-testing, and regular index review and rebalancing activities.\n· Collect, cleanse, classify and transform market, reference and financial data from internal and external sources.\n· Work closely with internal teams to understand their data needs and existing challenges, and deliver practical data solutions.\n· Organize and maintain well-structured datasets and supporting documentation to ensure data can be consumed effectively.\n· Perform data quality control, including validation checks and reconciliations, to ensure timely identification and resolution of data issues.\n· Develop data processing and validation tools to make data operations more efficient and scalable.\n· Leverage strengths as a team player to collaborate across various functions including IT, Research, Sales and Operations to ensure execution of index development projects.\nRequirements:\n· Relevant university degree or equivalent.\n· 3+ years of experience in market/financial data, index/data business, or relevant fields.\n· Demonstrate good understanding of market and financial data.\n· Hands-on experience in data collection, cleansing, classification and transformation.\n· Proficiency in Python, SQL, VBA and Excel formulas.\n· Exposure on Hong Kong and China equity market is a plus.\n· Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.\n· Strong collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills.\n· Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.\nHKEX is committed as an Equal Opportunity Employer.
