The primary focus of the role is to engineer resilient Inter-Office integrations and workflows that automate recovery, streamline price-band governance, and surface real-time matching performance-reducing manual effort, improving compliance, and strengthening Inter-Office market oversight.\nDevelop the automation of test tooling and framework development for the Inter-Office Trading platform-onboarding vendor tools, analysing requirements, developing, deploying and documenting solutions. Execute and evolve the automated test suite with actionable MI/reporting; refining a robust automation foundation that improves efficiency and delivery; communicate key insights to IT and Business stakeholders; and manage the relevant test environments so application codebases and underlying infrastructure are well understood and documented.\nAcademic and Professional Qualifications Required:\nPreferred - Bachelors or Master’s Degree (Computer Science or Related Degree, Maths or Physics also considered)\nRequired Knowledge and Level of Experience:\nDegree in Computer Science, IT or related disciplines.\n\n5+ years’ experience in software development with Java (JVM), including performance optimisation and profiling.\n\nDeep understanding of cloud infrastructures, usage patterns, across at least one major cloud vendor.\n\nKnowledge of off-heap data structures, including memory-mapped file-based data structures.\n\nKnowledge and experience of JVM based optimisation.\n\nExperience with distributed systems, data streaming (e.g., Kafka) and big-data processing paradigms.\n\nWorking in any of: Scrum, Agile, XP, Kanban or Lean Software Development environment.\n\nSoftware and application design and algorithm design and implementation.\n\nVersion control with Git; understanding of DevOps principles and secure software development (DevSecOps).\n\nWorking knowledge of data streaming standards and use-cases; exposure to highly-available services.\n\nSecurity aspects of software development\n\nBonus for knowledge of:\nUI development using React.js.\n\nScripting languages, preferably Python.\n\nNoSQL or distributed databases (e.g., Redis, Couchbase)\n\nAutomation/configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)\n\nContainerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).\n\nPublic cloud (e.g., AWS) and IaC (e.g., CloudFormation)\n\nSkills set and Core Competencies Required for Role:\nHighly proficient in Java; able to build high-throughput, low-latency services.\n\nUnderstanding of containers and Kubernetes; ability to implement complex network topologies in cloud like environments.\n\nAbility to scale applications to handle high-frequency market data.\n\nMust be able to communicate clearly and constructively with wide range of audiences in writing or in speech\n\nBe able to make decisions and have action-oriented attitude.\n\nEstablishes and maintains constructive and collaborative relationships with all business areas.\n\nProactive planning, pragmatic judgement and attention to detail.\n\nThe LME is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
