The role will ensure that network solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, operationally ready, and aligned with regulatory and business requirements.Job Duties:\nJob Responsibilities:\nAct as the network subject-matter expert (SME) for trading and corporate network projects, from solution design through production deployment.\nProvide architectural guidance on trading networks, market data distribution, and exchange connectivity.\nReview and validate network designs, implementation plans, migration strategies, and change proposals.\nAdvise on colocation, cross-connect, network redundancy, resiliency, and capacity-planning initiatives.\nCollaborate closely with project managers, Network Operations, trading application teams, Information Security, and external vendors.\nSupport technical risk assessments, architecture governance, and production-readiness reviews.\nEnsure that network solutions comply with applicable regulatory, audit, security, and operational standards.\nJob Requirements:\nA minimum of 7 years of experience in network architecture, engineering, or consulting within the financial services industry or an exchange environment.\nA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.\nStrong expertise in large-scale Data Center network architecture, including spine-leaf designs, high-availability solutions, and non-blocking network fabrics.\nHands-on experience with Data Center Interconnect (DCI), network redundancy models, and active-active and disaster recovery architectures.\nSolid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 Data Center networking, including EVPN/VXLAN and network traffic segmentation.\nKnowledge of cross-connects, carrier diversity, and colocation environments, preferably within exchange or financial Data Centers.\nDemonstrated ability to review and validate capacity-planning and resilience designs for mission-critical systems.\nFamiliarity with network security architecture, including secure zoning, firewall integration, and east-west traffic controls within Data Centers.\nExperience supporting Data Center migrations, infrastructure refresh programmes, and technology upgrades with minimal service disruption.\nExperience with network automation tools and AI agents is a plus.\nStrong understanding of operational readiness, monitoring, documentation, and service handover requirements in 24x7 mission-critical environments.\nAbility to lead technical discussions with vendors and solution providers, including reviewing architectures, bills of materials (BOMs), and CAPEX/OPEX justifications.\nAbility to develop and present high-level solution options, clearly outlining design trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and architectural considerations.\nProven experience supporting mission-critical systems in regulated environments.\nStrong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal users, project teams, management, and external partners to support successful project delivery and operational alignment.\nProfessional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are preferred.\nHKEX is committed as an Equal Opportunity Employer.
